Parking sensor replacement

Hi I’m a new disco 3 owner with an issue on parking sensors.I bit the bullet & stripped down the front bumper to replace the sensor I thought faulty(not clicking) put all back together and now switch light stays on but with different beeping pattern.do I need to clear the fault somehow or is there another issue? Sensor still not clicking.any help would be good thanks

A wiring fault ?

Or another sensor at fault

I gave the wiring a quick once over while bumper was off but nothing obvious.all other sensors are clicking so I assume working & switch light stays on where before was flashing? Is there a way of clearing faults without a odb reader ? Is this necessary after sensor replacement?

Code clearing not nrcessary

Check there is a voltage between black and brown wires of the faulty sensor

With ignition on etc

Cut a paper clip in half to prod in the connector holes

So I should get a voltage reading between black & brown at the sensor end of the loom, what voltage should this be ?i then assume that the same should be at the connector plug behind the drivers light to see if bumper loom is at fault ?if no voltage at connector then wiring from parking aid module is the culprit if not the module itself.do you know if it’s usual for just one sensor to become faulty on the module ?
Thanks for you replies PK

Dunno what voltage 5 or 12 I guess

It’s usually the bumper loom.

If the voltage is present check the return thru the colured wire to headlight

So took off bumper again & checked continuity in the loom, all sensors wiring is ok.swapped out the new sensor with another & tried it.sensors now all click & work when approaching obstacles but random beeping from fronts at less than 10 mph. Any ideas ?

One of the other front sensors dodgy.

Either use a fault code reader (£425) to find out which one, by monitoring the distance they report.

or just replace the whole front with new ones! £30 ?

and keep the old as spares

I guess if the fault is frequent you could swap a new one in all other positions to find the problamatic one, but sods law, one of the others will go faulty as soon as the bumpers back on
