Battery and hard reset

Just done a hard reset to see if it cured my epb error. Nope.

Did notice that the terminals especially the earth was a pig to tighten without the earth lead moving. Is this normal or new battery time. Has a JLR labeled battery fitted. No idea how old though.

The JLR battery terminal clamps are prone to becoming loose over time if they have been moved too much on the terminals. You can remedy this by removing the clamp and filing or cutting with a dremil the gap so that when tightened it will bite better on the battery terminal. Loose terminals on a D3 is a definite nono, as is a depleted battery!! If you suspect the battery is an issue and are unable to test it yourself, you could have it tested by a garage or a Halfords branch perhaps?

Not had battery issues apart from occasional special programs off when first starting but car really only gets used at weekends. They did tighten but earth was worse removing and refitting. Let it twist to sit against back of battery and it did tighten.

sounds like low battery.

You would benefit from a solar charger or CTEK charger

Not having battery issues as such. Only removed to try hard reset to try and eliminate epb problem. Just noticed the issue with the terminals when doing so.

Thanks for the thoughts peeps Thumbs Up
