Thrust Bearing making scraping noise
Hi All
Disco D3 05 reg
Yesterday noticed that when clutch was depressed i could hear a slight scrapeing noise you can just hear it (its not what i might call a normal thrust bearing squeal ), this continued every time i changed gear during my 15 mile drive to work
it continued on my way home for a short time
Strangely this morning no noise at all , clutch not slipping , smelling etc, and is smooth
car has done 160k miles as far as i know it has not had a clutch replaced
any thoughts ?
thanks
Andrew

Fyi thrust bearing is part of the engine, release bearing is part of the clutch.
