2006 LR3 Air suspension
I am certain that air suspension has been discussed to great lengths over the years, but I cannot find the help that I am seeking. Hopefully someone can help point me in the right direction. I bought a 2006 US Market LR3 HSE 4.4 with many miles, but inside and out are very clean. The previous/original owner took it to the dealer for most of its life. But they scared him off when he towed it in with all four struts down, and he sold it. I found that it had the original air suspension compressor, so I went to change it. I have a salvage yard, and I happen to have a parts vehicle here. The donor truck was already updated to the AMK pump, so I installed it along with the new bracket, fittings and such. It would not power on. I put direct power to it and it operates, but only fills the rear. So I replaced all three valve blocks. No change. I have a codes: P0500-00 Vehicle Speed Sensor A,
C1a93-13 Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit,
U0416-86 Invalid data from VDC control module,
C1A00-1D Control Module
I have replaced the battery, RR speed sensor, brake lamp switch, all three valve blocks, updated to AMK compressor, swapped a used control unit (swapped back to original), done a few hard resets, checked the plugs behind the battery, lifted it on a rack and I am out of ideas. All codes come back after clearing.
I also should point out that we bench tested the original compressor, and it worked. Unfortunately, it was damaged in the shop and is no longer usable.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I am attaching some screenshots of faults and sensor values.
Thank you

Was the compressor you replaced an AMK also?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

No, it was the Hitachi style compressor. I swapped over the bracket and lines from the donor truck to complete the update to AMK. I wasn’t looking for the update, it’s just what was on the donor.

The software is different for the AMK, so you will need to start there and reflash the ecu. A recalibration of the suspension may well also be needed. What diagnostics are you using?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Whether the software issue will actually stop it running though
What fault code reader are you using?

Might be worth having a look at the live values from that RR speed sensor - could be a break in the wire or similar causing the invalid data? If you have access to IID tool or similar it should be easy to check.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

I understand that the software update has to do with temperature regulation in the compressor, not allowing it to operate. This is what I have been told, but of course I am not speaking to the guy who engineered it. I am using an AUTEL Maxisys diag tool, it is pretty comprehensive, but can't download software updates from LR. I will recheck the values at the sensor, good advice.
Also, I noticed that the brake pedal is very soft, and the rear brake pads are worn to where they need replacement. I hesitate to replace the pads before I am sure that this truck will work out, but could long brake travel have an affect on this?

You are really going to be better off with dedicated LR diagnostics. There are many examples on here of chasing tails with "all brands" code readers!!
GAP IID is well regarded and will do any adjustments / calibrations as well as DTC's, live values, and ecu reflash etc.
It does sound like you might have a harness issue though (broken wire)!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

So you have the rear raising up ?
I think it does the rear before the front, so are you waiting long enough?

part of the story in regards to just the rear raising is this: The first time we put direct power to the compressor, it raised the rear only and then we heard a loud bang as the output fitting on the pump blew out of the housing, rendering it as scrap. I got another AMK, since the kit was already changed over and installed it. At this point, we replaced the front/rear valve block, thinking that it was blocked and it may have caused the damage to the compressor. It still only fills the rear, but we are being more careful as to how long we let it pump air.
Regarding the Gap IID, I would love to have it. However it is expensive and will be of no use if this LR3 doesn't get off the ground. I know that sounds like I am not fully committed, but I am trying to be relatively practical. The Autel, while not LR dedicated, does let me in to all control units and see actual values, not just read and clear codes like some cheaper machines. It also allows EAS calibration, vehicle reset and other features. Just not programming.

Can the Autel show you the wheel speed sensors live data (actual wheel speed foe all 4 wheels when moving?)yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

There isn’t a front rear valve block. That middle one lets air unto the tank iirc.

Thanks for the info on the middle valve block, good to know. I have many years experience with air suspension on Mercedes-Benz cars and SUV's from working in dealer service departments, but I am new to Land Rovers. Some concepts are the same, but some obviously are unique.
The Autel does allow me to view the WSS data, but we found something before rechecking the data. It appears that someone cut the wire harness going to the right rear speed sensor and made a new harness that is going from the sensor, across the rear and all the way to the left front wheel area. We are trying to trace the modification now to see what happened, if any of it came apart, or if we can put it back like it was from the factory. Which may reveal the original source. We shall see. Going through wire diagrams now.

They probably put a new wire in already.
Factory wire must already be faulty as the wires come from the front wheel arch.

Am AMK compressor will run ok on Hitachi software, obviously best on AMK software as it theoretically give a longer life, but an Hitachi compressor will not run on AMK software, AMK software runs at a lower pressure and lower temp than Hitachi. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
