Front diff rebuild question |
|
I've fit new RH & LH bearings to my front diff. Now when I've bolted it back together to check everything turns & moves freely before I apply gaskety stuff, I have noticed the flange is quite stiff to turn, not tight so you can't move it but not loose enough for say a child to rotate it. Is this correct?? I can't recall exactly how tight/loose it was when I removed it from truck, and saying that 1 bearing was totally shot, so that may have had a say in it.
Cheers

Just stripped my front diff and didn’t find anything wrong
The resistance you describe sounds about what I had after I put it back together, enough that a small child could not turn it.
I had 2 experience people (1 was a retired mechanic) look at it and they said it was normal.
