Rear squeak, warm wheel and a vibration
I have a squeak when I release the handbrake and pull away, am I right in guessing it’s not fully disengaging? It only seems to be on the passenger rear. It’s squeaks up to about 15 then nothing. However I then get a vibration from what feels like the passenger side at motorway speeds. Haven’t a clue which wheel it is coming from. Finally I decided to check the wheel bolts on the side as it’s been known near me that some kids have been undoing wheel bolts. I have one missing on the the front now. Anyway I found the rear passenger wheel was red hot to touch. Any ideas?

When you say the wheel, tyre caliper or disc ? Sounds like your calliper might be sticking or the hand brake drum. I’d say it’s the drum needs stripping and adjustingMetal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)
LR door puddle projectors (10 mins)
Tinted Bonnet wind deflector (10 mins)
All Intercooler pipes and Tbolts (2hrs)
3 injectors replaced so far (30mins)
Sunroof drain pipes both sides 2.5 hrs)
Rear discs, shoes, pads, callipers, flexi hoses, rigid brake line, n/s upper hub carrier bush and rear n/s upper arm (13hrs over 2 days)

That’s my thinking. It’s the actual alloy that’s hot to touch but I can’t pin point the exact squeakBlack disco3 XS

Wheel off, flat screwdriver in the top calliper slot and try and move the calliper by retracting the piston, if it goes easy calliper good, if its stiff calliper duff, also try and turn the disc once you have moved the pads a millimetre or two if disc rotates easy shoes good, if not its cursing time!

Could also be that the shoes in the parking brake are: either not fully retracting and need serviced, or, as happened to to me, the friction material has fallen off a shoe and is jamming between the disc and shoe. This causes the whole lot to heat up (enough to melt the plastic cover in the brake adjusting hole) and more importantly, vibration when driving at speed on the motorway.
