Top Tailgate Micro Switch |
|
Searched and all references seem to come back to the D3 section so
Is the D3 upper tailgate switch assembly the same as the D4. I found a you tube video of how to remove it on a D3 BUT my D4 switch is refusing to come out with the ease shown in the tutorial.
Just wondering if there is anything else retaining it on a D4
Reason for removal is it has stopped working today, I can open it fine with the key button. Been able to peel off the rubber and no corrosion at all present.
EDIT
I worked out how to get it out. Tested the wires. Switch is actually working ok BUT no response from the latch.
Any ideas what could be wrong.
Thanks Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch π

Well I fixed it. Broken wire in the first part of the harness from the switch to the multiplug. There is a little pinch point as it goes through the door panel and the wire had fatigued and broken. Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch π

Good find, itβs a good feeling when you find the issue and fix it yourself.
This might also help someone else in the future. D4 2016 Landmark, Waitomo Grey.
D3 2005 HSE, Bonatti Grey, now sold but still comes back for servicing.
Defender 2002 Td5 Commercial, had a hard life but slowly being restored.
I only work so I can afford to repair my Land Rovers!
