DISCO3.CO.UK Calendar 2009 - Entries Open

Since the 2008 calendar has been another great hit, it's time to think about next year's Cool

I've decided to open the gallery up nice and early again so that there's a chance to get great D3 photos taken throughout the year, rather than just those you remember towards the closing date Smile

Rating/voting will take place in early September, final collation and design in October and printing ready for an on-sale date in November for delivery worldwide before Christmas Cool

You can upload photos to the Calendar gallery by choosing "(DISCO3.CO.UK Public Galleries) DISCO3 Calendar 2009 - CALENDAR ENTRIES ONLY" from the album list available when you upload photos. All entries are approved before being accepted into the gallery, so don't worry if your photo doesn't appear straight away Wink

A few guidelines for entries:
  • All entries must have CALENDAR ENTRY in their description (not in the image's file name) to indicate you have entered it for the '09 calendar. All other 'accidental' uploads to this gallery may be rejected. I will, if at all possible, move obvious 'wrong' images to one of your own albums and contact you about suspected calendar entries, but this is very time consuming and will lead to a long delay in getting photos approved.

  • Please add some information about location, event, brief story etc which will be added to the calendar page - see the 2008 calendar pages for how this was used as an improvement over 2007 Mr. Green

  • By submitting entries you agree for your photograph to be used free of all charges in the production of the 2009 DISCO3.CO.UK Calendar.

  • Your photos must be available with numberplates clearly on show, and without watermarks, added text or other excessive image processing. The smaller image you upload to the Calendar Entries gallery can have numberplates obscured, but the high resolution version (see below) must be unaltered.

  • VERY IMPORTANT: Please ensure that you have a large resolution (ideally greater than 5 Megapixels, 2 Megabyte file size) version of any image you enter for the calendar readily available as these will be required for high quality printing. This means no camera phone photos please. This will be required in October 2008 when the calendar is being designed. Please bear this in mind, and try not to lose files! Wink

  • MOST IMPORTANT: Have fun taking photos of your D3/LR3 at work, rest or play Smile

Hi Martin,

Does the picture need to be taken by me, or can it be a picture of my D3 taken by a chum?

Thanks, Richard.

FYI, clicking on this link [in bold] on the Gallery page doesn't take you to the 2009 calendar thread.

Entries for the 2009 DISCO3.CO.UK Calendar - please read the 2009 calendar thread before submitting photos.

And again Sad I know I must sound like a broken record, but this is really important to make sure that only photos that were meant to be put forward for the calendar end up in the 2009 entries list.

Please, please spend the 2 seconds required when submitting photos and type in the words CALENDAR ENTRY (or even calendar, entry, 2009, Martin you're too picky, etc etc) into the Description field (or even Keywords, or frankly ANY of the boxes) so that I know 100% that you meant that photo to be there. Otherwise I will have to assume that you actually want the photo to be put in your own gallery, and it will be moved there.
