Full length boot liner - do they exist |
|
I'm regularly putting the 2nd row of seats down and loading up my fishing gear. I have a Hatchbag boot liner (and rubber mat for good measure) but that only covers the boot. I have seat covers on the 2nd row, so they are protected, but anyone know whether someone sells a hatchbag type cover which covers the backs of the 2nd row seats, and maybe even provides some protection for the rear of the front seats?
I've done a fair git of trawling of WWW with no success.
I think there are rubber mats that go full length but not what I'm looking for, storage and weight of it is a problem. MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

How about this:-

Hand made to order. Therefore delivery may take up to 10 - 14 days after placing your order. I believe that they will also make small modifications if required.

Hi.
I do know them, not friends or anything, but have used them to make a couple of boat covers in the past.
I contacted them about the boot liner for my Son's Tiguan and asked if I could collect it from Port Solent, but they admitted they were only acting as a broker, and the covers were dispatched directly from the manufacturer.
I took a chance and was very impressed, especially for the money.
I'll be having one for my D4 when I get it, but haven't ordered it yet in case I just can't ignore that L405 Itch.
I'll have a good look at Town and country, thanks.

I have the original D3 full length protector. Tailgate protector right up to protecting the backs of the front seats. Not used for a long time and even then occasionally - I’ll dig it out and put it in the FS section. Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

Or this version which folds down with the back seats.

These are very good quality for the price.
I brought one from the same company for my son's Tiguan recently and it fits realy well.

Just had a look at this one - Certainly way cheaper that others, waterproof is also good. Good to get a recommendation too, as the saying goes - if it looks to good to be true it probably is - I may have passed it by.
PS - i really need to improve my googling skills, not sure why I didnt get any of these up. MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

It arrived and I fitted it, my back seats spend 99 percent of their time down so the dog can have the space as boot full of carp, getting dog hairs off of the back of the rear seats was a real pita.
The cover is long enough to hook over the folded down seats incl haad rests and also covers the exposed sides of the seats so dog cannot claw them as getting in/out of the car.
Did not cover the plastic sides of the boot as seemed a fiddle plus no dog back there.
Easiest way to secure the tailgate bit was to remove the 4 screws and pop of the lower tailgate top trim piece and refit it whilst trapping the load liner so no need to mess with silly velcro.
The underside of the cover is rubberised so it does not slide around.
All in all for under 40 quid its a bargain, even came in a natty laptop style case.

First one as it made mention of covering the seats even when they are down.
Dont get me wrong as like most so called load bay/boot protectors they are never quite right, but for under 40 pounds I am very pleased.

Finally got round to ordering the Custom Covers full length liner yesterday, arrived today.
I have been out in the cold to see how it fits. The 'fabric' feels thick and strong, fits nicely into the boot etc.
Negatives - instructions say that the front headrests have to be removed, metal loops (attached to the liner) then threaded onto the headrest and then re-attach them to the seats. Not possible with RSE screens fitted and frankly a bit of a pain every time you want to fit the liner. I'm going to fashion something more straightforward - small hooks or velcro.
Also, to attach the liner to the side panels in the boot (goes right over the cubby boxes, which is good) you have to stick a velcro strip on the top of the cubby box on each side which is a bit unsightly. I'm going to look at using small hooks to hook into the vents.
On the whole, for the £39 price tag, I'm impressed. MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff
