I have the standard detachable towbar. It has always rattled around inside the storage bay in the boot when not in use. I'm sure that once upon a time, many moons ago, I saw that there should be an insert for that storage compartment to hold the towbar securely. Did I dream this? I have searched parts diagrams and googled for whatever phrases I can think of, but no joy.
Does anyone know a part number for this, or a decent aftermarket solution?

Take a look behind the left side storage panel. Some vehicles have a towbar storage receptacle there. I think it had originally been an option since not all vehicles have it.

The part number for D3 is VVO500020, for D4 is LR020002.. not sure if they’re interchangeable. One might imagine that they would be.

Have you looked in the parts for sale section on this site ? 1996 Defender -died (now in landrover heaven😇)chassis to ashes , rust to dust !

Apparently VVO500020 is superseded by LR020002, so they must be interchangeable.

Bit embarrassing, but I don't often look outside the D3 section on here, so didn't think to look at parts for sale and trawl through!
