WHEN TO CHANGE TIMING BELT ON LR3

Guys, I have a Discovery 3 2006 model - great machine! - have had it for almost three years now without no issues and it has done 81K. Bought it when it had already done 75K. However, I would like to know as to when I can change the timing belts and what else is required to be changed along with the belts.

A colleague said I need to 'read' the oil pump first before changing the belts. Is this true? and what does 'reading' the oil pump mean?

Please assist

Ok thanks guys for the replies. Therefore I take it as changing the front and rear timing belts with the oil pump at the same time.

Correct.

The rear belt is not so essential.

If you are doing it yourself read up the various guides here.
