You can see in the Home page when you last logged on but that's not available for everyone else to see AFAIK. I have to say that I don't really know what difference it's going to make ...either the member is going to post or he's not TBH...when he was last online is irrelevant ..no ? Confused .

I will as a matter of courtesy though put your suggestion forward to Martin Thumbs Up

I understand what you say Dick , but don't you find it annoying when people ask for help
and then never report the result eg. refunded, fixed, compensated etc. ?

It doesn't give closure I agree. Perhaps I should rent a 'couch' for members to discuss their 'closure' issues Laughing

It is a bit annoying ..I could try and send the boys around and beat the answer out of him ..but I guess that sometimes the member moves on to a Daihatsu and never wants to discuss a D3 ever again Wink

Shocked Is that the sort of language they teach you on the moderator's course?

2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Tonga Green

Hi sorry for not replying earlier
the end result was not what i would have expected considering i only took the car in for a clutch ,the dealership offered me an exchange gearbox of the same age and condition (like for like ) this was all they had to do by law! but in the end after contacting marshals head office and getting some butt kicked i struck a deal for them to replace my gear box with a brand new one but i had to pay for fitting (£500.00) that just happened to be the same money land rover had offered as a good will jester for nackering it up in the first place. not the best out come considering they were at fault not me but i was so sick of battling with marshals and land rover i was just glad to get it sorted and just never go near them again.
i would like to thank all the members at disco.co.uk for all the help and advice that was given it really did help especially after some one told Gary at marshals that i had copy and pasted his email on the site he was most upset Smile
and so he should have been i still read it now and can not believe what it said Rolling with laughter
the new gearbox is fine and is a lot easer to select 1st than in my original that i did take in to lr 2 times complaining about struggling to select 1st but i was fobbed off with it must be the clutch wear ????? more bull shi# now i know
i love my disco but i will not change it for a new one as i just dont want the dealer ship hassle again Thumbs Up

Thanks lee for update.

Good move geting a new one over the second hand one.
Getting a second hand one is not necessarily like for like, you have know idea how it has been treated, could be better could be worse.
With new one you know it's history.
Getting there is half the fun

my main concern over them fitting a 2nd hand one was it would more than likely have come from a right off so go only knows what it might have been through! Just a quick recap the law has now changed and if a garage breaks something or damages your car and they don't tell you you can now take legal action against them, good to know because no doubt this will happen to other car owners call me paranoid but i alternate my services at two garages now, best to be safe rather than sorry, they are both none LR main dealerships i get more miles for my money but they still use all LR parts for the services Thumbs Up
