Hi ORC1,
Hmm.. so as not to repeat all the good previous suggestions only one more
This is from the boss, can you please move (or protect) the HDC switch to somewhere where it is not liable to be triggered by a handbag (the wifes) slipping of the centre console
only like its kind of disturbing when SWMBO phones me from the disco3 and says that "my" car has some wierd brake problem....

Blimey, just tried it. So it does, learnt something there! To be honest I don't use low range very often. Like I said I'm a complete novice.
I would still like to see it happen in high range in Mud & Ruts. If you are annoying me, just remember it takes 42 muscles for me to frown and only 4 to extend my middle finger, and I'm lazy so don't be offended.

Just been off-roading. HDC coming on when changing modes is a real PITA. Getting there is half the fun

An "Urban Street" mode.
Lower and softer than normal (its got those ing potholes to contend with, and less visually intimidating than normal, combined with sharper throttle response for the "get into the traffic stream" moves.
And
Auto down/up - when you park up automatically lowers to access level on the passenger side so that "less able" passengers can get in/out with greater dignity. Cancelled when you go to move off, or flip the height switch in either direction. (Might be one that you preselect/program with the key?) Would have been very useful the other day when I was driving Mum around and she was struggling with getting in/out - she's just not used to the "leap of faith" required, and is pushing 80 quite hard.... but the grin on her face when she drove my D3 might take a few years to wear off ) Rob Smith

Yep you're right, LR do have to reach a balance point. But that doens't mean we can't listen to some of our best sources of feedback - the customers, aka you guys! - when working out where we should go next. So don't let the "it'll never happen" mentality get in the way of making suggestions.

From mooching through the thread, I agree that the HDC coming on automatically is a pain when switching TR settings and having the HDC control in the middle of the TR switch would be as I normally have to look down to find the yellow button to switch it on or off. Honda Dog U better DUCK!!!!!

Can't understand this difficulty with finding the HDC button Assuming you can find the TR knob without looking just move your hand backwards for the HDC button
Not so common...

I know it should be straight forward but find myself always having to look for it, normally at a most inopertune moment when speed is picking up a little too much!!! Honda Dog U better DUCK!!!!!

How about a dual mode TR where the standard factory settings can be over-ridden (like automatic HDC etc) and stays in 'advanced mode' until the engine is switched off.???
Edit: Or even a 6th position which can have all the parameters set via the sat-nav screen as 'user defined'...... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Agreed with DSL....it must be an ergonomics thing....
Slimer's right...the HDC button doesn't move...it's always in the same place and should therefore be easy to find, but when I need to disconnect it in a hurry I ALWAYS have to fiddle around or look down to actually find it (I'm referring to the HDC button).
Another point....if it was so easy to find without looking for it, then why is it yellow? 2006 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

The danger is, in listening to all these suggestions, LR could end up with an over-complicated system.
One of the big plus points of the current system is its simplicity. Nothing is simpler than turning a knob, dial in what you want and there ya go!
By incorporating all sorts of 'user' derived settings and over-rides, it would become difficult to use. Look at how the BMW I-Drive system gets critiscised for been over complicated. Silver TDV6 HSE

I often think the HDC button should be on the steering wheel but considering the number of times that the radio has gone quieter when I've tried to reduce speed on cruise control, maybe that would not be a good idea. Honda Dog U better DUCK!!!!!

I think the point of the HDC is that it comes on autonatically in all modes so if you switch from one to another when you have it off it comes on. Getting there is half the fun

OK , all of the above, especilly off road hight at least 80 km;hr maybe in OUTBACK mode
I dont mind the position of the controles they are ok for me except the little dog has a habbit of treding on the HDC button
LR would get a major if the changes could come via a program update .
If LR knew how much effort is going into changing some of these things they should offer some help
After all they should wont us to purchase a LR when our one needs replacing.

Hi Dan,
Very happy with Terrain Response apart for a couple of problems: The 40 kph limit is too low for Austraian conditions especially in the desert where ground clearance and momentum go hand in hand. Also wish that DSC could be completely turned off. Have been bogged a couple of times and wanted to spin the wheels to clean the mud out of the tyre tread.
By the way the standard Goodyear Wranglers are hopeless offroad ( I have had 6 punctures!!) and we can't get the Goodyear MTs down under.
