I'm with DSL. I think the TR button should be on the steering wheel, or within fingers reach. Sometimes you just dont want to take your hands off the wheel, then you have to take your eyes off the road to check whats happened...
Ideally i would like it linked to my brain like what fighter pilots have Duncan

Why have it on the wheel ? There are enough buttons there already. Pressing HDC by mistake (which will happen if its on the steering wheel) is not a good idea and will soon have you cursing it.
TBH if your travelling that fast you need to cling onto the wheel with both hands... you don't need TR, you need to slow down
Also, you really should select the correct TR mode before you reach the situation, not mid way through it. Reading the road / terrain ahead is one hell of a great way to help you get through it.
There are plenty of lights for HDC and a nice big LCD showing you what TR mode your in too

Ahh, but thats where the problem lies. GGS was , ended up switching between MAR and RC and SM, even got the bonger telling me to slow down or the suspension would lower Duncan

Just thinking out loud again LR promote a very green approach to driving off road. They quote 'As slow as possible but as fast as necessary'. I presume that the settings are geared around this approach. If they were to alter the settings of the gizmo's so we could go Faster Deeper Harder. There could be a confliction of interests. For use of a 4x4 site and driver training pm me

Have we heard anything from ORC1 recently or has this excellent source of knowledge and customer relations passed LR by Duncan

I think his train response is set to "NATO", he will watch the fight, but he does not want to get directly involved...

Three things I really want:
1) Manually locking diffs
2) A split-screen mode for the sat nav that allows me to see the map on the left and the 4x4 info on the right
3) allowing a higher speed limit threshold for leaving the suspension on off-road height when in sand mode. It's annoying that the car lowers itself when I'm about to charge up a dune.

Having DSC come on automatically after having switched it off once but changed TR to RC caught me out on the lip of a very steep slope. Nasty experience. When switched off, DSC should stay off until back to normal mode (TR off).
Suspension should lower, become stiffer in normal mode over 100 kmh otherwise suspension is very wobbly in sudden manoeuvers required to avoid mistakes of others. Should also reduce uneven wear on outer edges of front tyres.
Make extended and super extended modes available manually by some special procedure, limited to 5kmh
Raise off road height speed limit to 80 kmh (manually configurable or special procedure)
Would a tyre changed mode be possible (one selectable wheel off the ground whilst in super extended mode), no need for air jack !
Other than that. Brilliant Red Indian wisdom: If you must jump canyon, dont do it in 2 steps.

Major request here - when some of these suggestions are incorporated into a "New, improved!" version of this great vehicle, I suggest that an upgrade to the software of all the existing vehicles out there should be made available from dealers at a reasonable cost.
Same goes for the Satnav software - we are long overdue for an upgrade of the roadmaps here in the UAE!
Here's hoping...

If LR complied with the requests the next D3-4 would be dyslexic. Some want the D3 to stay up at speed and others want it lowered. Some steering controls, other not.
All could be done by the stealers individually programming vehicle for the owner. Each vehicle then needs to be coded and have a master control (with PIN). LR could sell this as an option. 06 TDV6 SE with Extras
