Desert Traveller wrote:If LR complied with the requests the next D3-4 would be dyslexic. Some want the D3 to stay up at speed and others want it lowered. Some steering controls, other not.
All could be done by the stealers individually programming vehicle for the owner. Each vehicle then needs to be coded and have a master control (with PIN). LR could sell this as an option.
Do you really think so? I'd say most of these discrepancies in requests are due to the different applications - ie. people would want the car to lower at high speeds on the motorway, and to stay up at 40km/h in the sand to charge up dunes. Which is exactly what Terrain Response is for! "If TR is off, behave one way, if TR is in Sand, (etc...) behave another way."
So if I put the car in sand mode, I'd like DSC to stay off when turned off, and I'd like offroad height to have a higher speed limit.
But when I turn the selector back to Normal, then return DSC to its current default behavior and lower the offroad height speed limit.

What is most obvious is that in one way or another we wont more controle over the perameters
If the old gard at LR have anything to do with it there is a fat chance of geting them to change it
BUT BUT BUT The new chaps in India may be more receptive to what we need
Somehow this message must get to them. Could an invitation to them to visit DISCO3.CO.UK be made
Also a wish list for them to look at.

You can practically guarantee that they've already analysed and discussed the majority of the important threads on this site in great detail.
Although they'd never admit it publically, this site will give them a good starting point for future developments/changes for new features and models.
The sad thing is that when the D4 comes out (and is improved even further based upon feedback gleaned from this site), it'll probably be too expensive for most of us to afford 2006 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

LR have already hinted that Discovery and RR will move further upmarket.
I guess the 7 seat LRX / Freelander based model will take its position as the family LR and leave the D4 for the rich to bring along their staff to picnics on the wild plains of Hyde Park.

One way or another we will get around the grevences with the programs and get some of the changes mentioned, For currant owners I think the only hope is for some computor expert to come up with a way of changing the peramerters to suit our individule needs This is completley out of my expertese so will just have to wait or accept it as it is
