D4 door cards on a D3
Can it be done? I have a D4 interior on the way and have been offered the door cards also. The doors will have the Meridian speakers most likely.
Anyone know if they will work, what about the central locking, as on the D3 there is the little lever at the door handle where as on the D4 there appears to be a button.
Has anyone done this before.

The door cards do fit and only the vehicles with keyless entry have the little button in the exterior handle.
However, the internal switches are revised as some D4 models have the seat memory switches on the door and the central locking release switch is also located there, rather than in the middle of the dash. The internal door release levers are pretty much the same as the D3. Some D4 door cards also have provision for 'mood lighting'.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
That'd be a worthwhile upgrade, if only to fix the central locking button. Not sure why LR took central locking so literally

Back to this, I have the D4 door cards now and will be looking to swap over when I get time. One snag I have possibly hit is the wing mirror control switch. These are now located within the switch pack for the windows as opposed to the separate units in the D3s. Are the plugs similar? My D3 HSE has folding mirrors but the new door cards are for a vehicle without. Could it possibly be as easy as purchasing this, and having my wiring / plugs just connect up?
Other hurdle I still need to check is the speakers, I have the standard H/K HSE (not the Logic 7) set up currently and the D4 door cards I have were from a vehicle with the Meridian set up, not sure that speaker diameters are going to be the same. . . .

Did you do this swap? I started on it this afternoon but came up against two issues;
1. Window switches are different plugs for each of the windows, especially drivers multi pack - one option is to reuse the old switches but the holes are different (I have a plan to get around this)
2. The door release cabling is slightly different, main issue is the length of cable, thus it does not lock / unlock / open the door. The cable will fit in, but the 'exposed section' of the cable is about 5mm too long.
Has anyone successfully done this swap? Speakers line up, plug together, just the two issues above to resolve. Have only tried one door as I have run out of time today.

Nope, never done it and as a mod it's pretty rare.
