Breaking Disco 3. What to keep?
Hi all, I picked up a Disco 3 with MASSIVE!!! miles and a knackered engine.
I know the lad that’s put the miles on it and it’s been very well maintained.
I bought it for a bunch of bits that I need for mine, but what else would I be prudent to strip off before I scrap it.
I am taking some trim bits and bobs, I did want the leather but it isn’t heated for what ever reason 🤷🏻♂️
I need the air-con pump and I will take the wheels and good tyres. I am also having the full tank of diesel that’s in it. I am also taking the wiring loom for the rear suspension as he has never had any problems with the wiring! 😳
I would imagine the handbrake module, air compressor and tank, the genuine Land Rover battery, but what else? Everything works as it should but the engine is knocking.
I can’t keep the whole car, but I would hate to get rid and leave something I’m likely to need.
Cheers
Eddie

Aye it’s Ralph’s, 308000 on it. He was away to scrap it, but too cheap to pass it bay when I added up the bits that I need aff it. I toyed with putting my engine in his but it’s too rough round the edges.

Absolutely everything you can get off the car, if you’ve got the space and time. You’d be surprised what sells.

It has a fairly decent leather interior but it’s not heated. This must have been a very basic model as it hasn’t got parking sensors or cruise control. Does anyone know if it’s likely that the seats have the heating elements in them?
