Diesel repairs
Not specifically D3 related.
Does anyone know a good diesel specialist nr Banbury.
Everyone locally I've spoken to just orders exchange pupms or injectors. If they are exchange someone overhauls them.
I know where I lived in Hertfordshire I had a very good diesel injection specialist. Round here nobody bothers.
I know refurbished should be ok but unless there's a fault that can't be repaired I like my bits back, i know it's the right one and fits.
Am I just being old fashioned in wanting my bits re done.
It's not actually for my d3 it's for my van but the same applies to the D3 and probably more so as it's likely to throw a fit for a new one being the wrong colour or the guy refurbishing it had the wrong hat on.

Dieselbob comes up on pretty much any car forum you care to mention.
Many common rail injectors cannot be refurbed mainly due to no parts available, if they are listed as refurbed think you will find they have been ultrasonically cleaned, then pressures adjusted and sold as recon.
Diesel shops are getting harder to find as there simply is not the work out there to keep them in business.
Normal nowadays for trucks to do their entire life on one set of injectors

Thanks for the reply. I will look them up.
My problem is a leaking high pressure pump I have seen lots of YouTube videos on repairing it. My worry is doing it myself is if a speck of dirt gets in there. Then there is nothing between the pump and a blocked injector.
My dilemma is.
Kit £23.00
New pump £300.
Repair somewhere in between.
Damage caused if I get dirt in is probably new pump and injectors.

High pressure pump as in common rail or std injector pump?
I have put new gaskets/seals on a bosch ve pump and an older pda type pump, not to hard but fiddly and governor spring hole location is everything.
Tbh I was not to anal about dirt when doing either pump, clean the outside before stripping then use good old common sense.

Common rail pump.
X8R limited have a kit on Amazon and good video on how to do it I might give it a go.
They have some very interesting bits for repair of land rover weak points.
