ive just read 7 pages of threads on the oil pump subject , my D3 has done 183k on its original oil pump , I just cant see it failing now OR will the new belt kit find it out ??
thanks

Read the threads & use the correct pump, not a cheap replica.

Plus 1
Also wouldn’t take the risk considering it’s a lot cheaper than a damaged engine

New belt and tensioner will most likely bring on fatigue of the old pump casing
is it worth the risk?

spoke to the place that did the last belt kit this morning , the chap confirmed they do use the newer pump and always replace the lot but he wasn't working there in 2012 when it was last carried out , so I stripped down and it has the old style pump , ordered new and will prep the car ready for it tomorrow , I must say the current timing belt is in very good condition to say its done over 90k
I have just changed my second set of belts the front had done 10years and was like new..

As a seasoned DIY mech , i usually measure cambelt wear by the wether the printed numbers are still visible, the belt on my D3 is still perfectly readable after 90k miles , how gentle is the tdv6 on it belts?? Nowt like ive seen in all my years

Had to grind mine down a bit, think it's pretty standard unless you've paid top dollar for the kit.

yeah the starter locking things are too big when plated silver.
you may want to fit a new tensioner bolt as its a revised design (you can see the difference)
not normally supplied with kits

Yep, had to tickle my locking tool to fit, but then it worked well.
Finished today doing my front 2 belts and oil pump. Also changed the water pump as noticed a leak. Did it over 2 days as the weather was . Managed to borrow a locking kit from a friend. It had been well used and fitted well. Was well happy with the job and took the advice and how to from here on the forum so thanks to all. Getting ready soon for start of the tintent season.

ah right , that's what I will do then but im going to try and get a partial refund from the seller as its not fit for purpose but id also suspect most buyers are doing the same thing as they have good feedback and sell a good few of these kits
