Wont rev
Hi, can anyone help with a fault on my d3.
It broke down yesterday at the roadside so we towed it the short distance home.
It will start very reluctantly after a lot of cranking and then settle down to a rough idle for around a minute or so and then cut out. Touching the throttle has no affect at all.
Having scanned it shows fault codes
P0405 EGR valve sensor A circuit low
P0088 Fuel pressure too high
P0629 Fuel pump A control circuit high
P0087 Fuel pressure too low
Fuel filter was renewed about 500 miles ago.
Not had any time to look at vehicle yet, any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance.

Fuel pump in tank by the sounds of it.

Did you connect the pipes on the correct points if the fuel filter. Worth checking.Bodsys Brake Bible

Had a look today, seems to have reasonable fuel pressure coming from bleed valve at rear of engine.

Ok, finally found some time to look at Disco.
Fitted a new genuine fuel filter. Also took out MAF sensor and cleaned (totally crudded up). Tried to start truck but same as before. Hard to start, then rough tick over for around a minute until it cuts out again. Had a mate scan it and found only high and low fuel pressure faults stored.
Any help would be very appreciated.

have you checked the schraeder valve under bonnet.Looks like a in tank fuel pump required and if your diy savvy can be had for £40 plus an afternoon to drop the tank.quater of a tank max otherwise a big tray required.

Yes Ding Dong, seems to have reasonable fuel flow from schrader valve.
Also checked the high pressure pump belt today just in case and that is fine.
Surely there would be no fuel from the schrader valve if the low pressure pump had failed?
Also, why would a high pressure fault be flagged up if the low pressure pump was shot?
Thanks guys.

Were the faults read with a LR specific scanner of just a generic one? some generic code readers can give misleading results at times.

Scans were performed with Auto logic
Does sound like a similar fault. My Disco is a b*g~#r to start, then will tick over very roughly for around a minute before cutting out. If I touch the throttle pedal it has absolutely no effect, not even raising the revs slightly. Its almost as if its not even connected.

I see you have a 2oo5 and have the egr's been blanked. You could try putting a couple of 2pence pieces on the clamping areas at the top of the two pipes as it goes into the housing to prove. Generally the map sensor can be removed and if gummed up which it probably will be if an egr is throwing exhaust gasses straight into the engine instead of clean air this will have the effect of poor running as no air to compress in the combustion process.this should cost about 4p.clean sensor out with wd40 and don't poke anything down the small hole.

Update!
Been tinkering with Disco today. Lo and behold, after being stubborn to start, she did finally fire up and managed to rev, albeit reluctantly to around 2750 revs (previously she wouldnt come up off idle). My mate borrowed and autologic and we scanned her again. The fuel pressure faults that previously flagged up are now gone but we still have an EGR fault although I have been informed that its not enough of a problem to be the fault I'm experiencing.
I will take a look at the EGR valves and report back.
Anybody like to add their opinions?

As said above, blank the valves. I had a similar problem, it would start but had hardly any power to pull away, I suspected an egr valve stuck open ( thus losing a shed load of boost pressure ). . I blanked off the one I suspected (ie. the one that was not changed when in warranty ) at the top of the valve where the side pipe attaches, and lo and behold, back to full power and revs again. Worth trying before spending any more dosh. PS, you could use a 2 p coin, but I used a steel blanking plate bought from a forum member previously and fitted as a temp trial.
