Lumpy idle on warm up and a couple of faults showing

Hi guys.

My 2005 D3 is lumpy when first started but has a lovely smooth tick over as she warms up ( after5-10mins) any ideas.

I’ll include the screenshot of the faults showing.
The FBH isn’t working and I can’t get the IID tool to do anything with it as it just comes back as failed but the unit itself isn’t coming up as a fault.

If I don’t need to worry too much just say. I’m new to all of this stuff so learning on the way.

Thank you.
Myke

Some of your glow plugs are probably dead or dying. Cold start idle will improve as temps climb towards spring! FBH is not exactly reliable, just add it to your "To do" list along with the glow plugs Smile

Thank you.

Are they best bought from Landrover or are they Bosch or something like that.

You have plenty of choice really, but I personally prefer NGK or Denso which can be had from Advanced Factors.

You definitely don't want to be doing these too often, so buy once and buy wisely Thumbs Up

Engine live data, think you have to tick each injector then start the car to see the info, but its been a while!

Hi

If it helps here’s a link to the gap iid Manual, all 194 pages Whistle

https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/wordpress/w...lV3.00.pdf

Plus 1 what @lynall says about where to find the live data menu for the injectors

I believe the injector readings should be between 800-1200 @tickover

Ref the FBH, plse make sure ur fuel low level light isn’t on , as when it does it will shut the FBH off to conserve fuel, FBH should turn on below 7c

May i ask plse, do all ur steering wheel controls work, inc the cruise , thks

Ps, as a side note , make sure ur iPhone or iPad is fully charged as u may be doing something and Ur phone, iPad may cut out half way and can cause major issues to the D3 particularly if ur reflashing an ecu Thumbs Up

I don’t know about the cruise control as I have only been doing 30 on the back roads as I don’t need a car for work as I have a company van.

So if the cruise control doesn’t work what would that indicate??

Thank you everyone so far. 👍🏻👍🏻
Myke.

Here we go.
These are the screenshots so far.

The smoother looking graph lines are as the car warms up and runs much better.

My RRS1 has just had the same fault with Cyl 1 at max flow 1390. I was prepared for all six to be replaced but as it happens it only required just the culprit one. It’s now smooth hot or cold.

Thanks.
I’ll have a look at changing no 3 injector then first.
Any recommendations for best place to get one or get them refurbished?
I know we have a few diesel injection specialist in Essex but it’s always nice to go to someone that’s recommended.
