d3 oil pump 10nm torque wrench needed

Hi, hope everyone is safe & enjoying lockdown maintenance!

I'm just doing the front timing belt on my D3.

I'm replacing the oil pump as well.

I am struggling to buy a 10nm Torque Wrench ,(that takes less than a fortnight to get here)!

I don't suppose that anyone on here has one that I could borrow please?

I'm in Sheffield - S20 post code.

Thanks

To be honest 10nm is very little. A stand length 10 mm spanner with sensible force should be sufficient.

2 bags of sugar on a 500mm breaker bar.

I would say flour, but 1kg bags of cannabis are probably easier and cheaper to get hold of at the moment!

Yep, good old Halfords.

I managed to get a Bike torque wrench in the end.

Thanks for the suggestions 😀

To be fair their Professional range tools are pretty good, the torque wrenches in the motoring section are actually made by Norbar.

Your hand is the best torque wrench at those levels. You can feel what the thread is doing and as has been said, 10Nm is just nicked up on a 10mm equivalent length spanner. Anyhow, you have one now Thumbs Up

Halfords are variable. Some of their stuff is very good - sockets, tool chests - but some less so. I like their torque wrenches. Get a trade card. Be selective - the screwdrivers are average at best!
