Detachable tow bar homologation certificate Spain

Hi All,

This is a question for the Spanish members, how did you get the ITV station to accept your detachable tow bar? They are insisting that they need a homologation certificate.

My sheet has it actually added on there.

Unlike the UK, most of Europe need all any any modifications to be added to the tech sheet.
If you have the right papers, its not too hard to do it.

When i get back home in a few days, I can share a photo of my technico sheet with you so you can see what exactly might be needed.

Hi Paul,

So I did some digging into this.

My car has the factory LR towbar fitted and on the Technical Sheet is says under observations:

Sistema de enganche E11*00*3761

Essentially the Disco Factory Tow meets the E11.... Standard.

I can see that you would need a few docs to get it authorised.
But first some questions arise...

Who is the manufacturer of the hitch?
When was it installed?
By whom?

I might be able to see if I can get some of the docs, and can speak to my fixer to see what might be needed to convice the ITV guys to add it on. Pre-Production
