EAS compressor temperature sensor issue |
|
Hi, my MY07 EAS compressor won't run at the mo and I'm getting a dash fault message of "System temp too high, height will adjust when it cools." but I left it a while and it doesn't. I plugged my IID in and the compressor temperature is showing as 132 C but I pulled the compressor cover and put my hand on it and it isn't even warm.
Unplugging the harness drops the reading to about 10 C (open circuit value I presume) so it looks like the car is reading ok and its a sensor issue. I cleaned the connectors and plugged the harness back in and got a reading of 120C. This cleared the fault and the compressor started but the temperature reading very quickly jumped to 140C and it stopped again.
Any thoughts please? Just a duff sensor or could it still be a wiring issue?

Sounds like the temperature sensor on the compressor so pull the compressor out. While its out check the quality of the filter medium and overhaul the compressor. Kits are available cheaply on eBay.

More work than I'd hoped, but makes sense. Thanks
