Winch tekkers!

Hi all

Thanks again for the help. It’s becoming a long term vehicle now my lr3 is Self repairable It’s a bit of me! Looks and work wise.

I would like to fit my winch to the vehicle somewhere. Ideally the front bumper. But without spending £700 on the custom eBay one.

My question is, does anyone know what’s under the bumper? Is there some kind of fixture I can make a bracket and fit a winch inside the original bumper?

Or any kind of mod I can utilise?

Thanks in advance

The steel bar behind the plastic bumper wont take a winch, you want a discreet winch mount that fits behind it.

Hi thanks do you think it would work bolting two steel angle sections to it and then bolt tin have to the angles?

No
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I’ve seen a few pictures of the original d3 bumper but with a winch behind it. How have they managed to fit a winch do you know please?

Sure I saw one pull it uphill too so must have been a big one

Thumbs Up

Plenty to pick from at various prices and quality of materials. But remember, with a hidden winch you have to watch for cable snagging/poor spooling. There's zero practical advantage and plenty of disadvantages to not being able to inspect your winch drum.
