Xenon headlight bulb upgrade

As the nights are drawing in I thought I ought to fit some new xenon bulbs.

The old bulbs were oem philips bulbs only a couple of years old, but I have my headlights on all the time using the canadian setting.

I bought some Philips 85122WHV2S1 WhiteVision gen2 bulbs from Amazon.

I took some photos so I could see if I could see if there was any difference, but as soon as they were turned on the difference was obvious, they are much whiter, the throw is slightly better, but everything is much clearer.

Old on the left, new on the right.

you could'nt have posted this at a better time. I was researching this last night.

Any reason for going for White vision vs the extreme vision?

I had some LED bulbs in my old P38 that were very white and they were great, so when I saw the whitevision bulbs I decided to try and replicate the LEDs a little bit.

I watched a few Youtube videos which helped me decide, I think the extremevision has a longer throw, but they have the same warm look of the orginals, the extra whiteness suits my old eyes.

I don't think you can wrong with either bulb.

All that makes perfect sense to me. I've come from an LED headlighted car and the Xenons on the D4 are more yellow than candles. I'll go the same route as you did. Thanks for posting.

I also cleaned the leanses using an Autoglym Headlight Restoration Complete Kit before changing the bulbs. I have to admit I drew a breath when I first started suing it as the headlight goes completely cloudy, but I followed all the steps and they came out very well.

I switched mine to Osram Xenarc Night Breaker a couple of months ago, the difference was astonishing! One of the best upgrades I have done to the vehicle.
