My new Izmir Blue Disco!
Hi everyone, first post on the forums but I've been reading the site religiously since I ordered my Disco back in early October - keep up the good work! After waiting almost five months (I'm living in Dubai, UAE), our fully-loaded GCC-spec LR3 V8 HSE is finally here!
Funny story with the color - we ordered Cairns Blue and waited all this time for it - two days ago we go to the dealer to pay the downpayment and we get the first glimpse of our new car. Here's how the dialogue went:
(after almost five months of painful waiting)
Dealer: There she is!
Me: That's not my car
Dealer: What do you mean?
Me: Am I crazy, is that Cairns blue?
Dealer: no, that's IZMIR blue...
Me: I ordered Cairns blue
Dealer: Wait... (runs off)
Anways it turns out that they've apparently discontinued Cairns blue because it wasn't selling well (in this market, or everywhere I don't know) so at the factory they just "upgraded" us (marketing speak) to Izmir Blue! Of course it's more like a completely different color than an upgrade, but after staring at it for about an hour my wife and I decided that we'd keep it rather than wait another few months for a different color, and I am so glad we did! In the sunlight (away from the ugly fluorescent dealership lights) this color is absolutely beautiful. Because it's fairly new and I wasn't able to find any photos on the forums when I was agonizing over whether to buy it or not, I figured I'd post a few pictures for those who may be considering it. Enjoy!

First one I've seen in that colour, it looks great, especially with that backdrop
Might not look so pretty against the dim lights of Bradford.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Very nice. Had I ordered my car rather than taken one the dealer had in stock, I would have been tempted by that clour or the tonga green.

Having lived in the UAE myself you do not want to know! We had a D2 from new that cost us £16,500 for a mid range model (that was 5 years ago) It is also the fact that you could fill up or less than £10 a tank with petrol - I wish.......
Came back to the UK and it was a bit of a shock paying full price for a new model HSE. Let alone the diesel to go with it - remind me --- why did I come back 2010 5.0 V8 HSE, Ipanema Sand

I've had my Izmir blue for 3 weeks now & I think it's the best colour I've owned. Took a chance as I ordered it without seeing the car only the colour swatch in the dealers. The dealer hadn't seen one either, but they were so impressed they've ordered a demonstrator in that colour.

IZMIR blue? Is near silver, too.
Is that a preparation for TATA colour names?
Lovely colour, though 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

According to a conversion on Google, it was 27,920 GBP (V8 HSE including all options plus mudguards, rollable loadspace mat and roof cross-bars). Insurance for 13 months (you pay for it upfront here) cost about 1,220 GBP including offroad, and free towing.
Just filled up for the first time today and it was about 15 GBP for a full tank of 95 Octane petrol (the only options here are 95 and 98..). How much is it in the UK? Do they sell the V8 version or only diesel there?

In the UK, the base Diesel model is more than you paid for your V8 HSE 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto
