Tdv6 cranks but won’t start |
|
Report post
So I’ve refitted HPFP still no joy cranks but won’t start . Replaced seals in the pumps cylinder head : element . Check shryder valve fuel squirts . Attached old injector to fuel rail turned it over diesel is squirting out . I’m at a loss I’ve think I have proved fuel system. However I have the tank on the floor not fully connected by which I mean to feul filler pipes and breathers . She won’t start with easy start either . Oh I have done EGR delete too cleaned intake and removed butter fly inside along with cleaning out the tank new fuel .
I have had her tick over briefly before I started maintenance on fuel systems which was achieved by bleeding the fuel rail by disconnecting the Cooper pipes .
I’m stumped this is the first Land Rover I have had never worked on one before any help in pointing me in the right direction would be great [/img]

what happens with EazyStart ? does it attempt to start ?
your saying you can see fuel being sprayed out of an injector ... so it's either not actually getting in to the cylinder OR it's getting there at the wrong time. The EazyStart is sucked into the cylinder on the downward stroke so should be "there" when compression occurs, so should at least create some minor push on the cylinder.

thinking a little harder now ... if it ran before you touched it then it's something you did inadvertently. go back and look at EVERYTHING you've touched and check all the connections - fuel, air, electrics.
assume you've looked at fuses ? .

Easy start does nothing at all . I’ve pulled up the diagrams for fuel lines pump etc confident it’s setup up correctly. The internal pump is connected to the outlet which goes to the blue push fit to the first spigot on fuel filter new filter. I’ve checked there’s fuel up to inlet on hpfp and after due to injectors spraying although it didn’t spray straight away there was a little delay. HFPP TESTED good readings .
When I first had the car it ticked over only for a few seconds at a time x 3 . That’s it only thing I did was bleed it it copper fittings. Which led me to believe fuel pressure. So did an over hall .
However who ever owned the car before me has done the same things .
Replaced njectors and pumps . I have had new injectors. Tested the old one it failed but no leak back I had one of the new set tested good readings .
My diagnostic shows no faults either

I bought the car no keys at auction. I’ve bought the key from Land Rover . I took it back on a trailer for them to test the key as I used my own diagnostic to program the key they said it was good

What tool did you use to do the fuel lift pump routine ?. Have you checked for any water ingress in to the PCM if its been standing a while?.

I used a autel mk808 . No i didn’t check pcv on guidance from diesel testers advise. I was concerned as you would have to take off one the cylinder heads to get it out I and I didn’t have new seals .
