Got two recorded messages re some one has placed an order with Amazon for £1000 which looks suspicious. If I want to cancel press 1 or to speak to security press 2. Scam . These people are pathetic.

Someone, somewhere is collecting these spam messages to write a PhD thesis about identifying the native language of the originators based on their idiomatic use of word order, spelling and syntax.

United Kingdom

However, I received this alert back in October which was quite genuine. That night there was a £70+ fraudulent purchase made from the USA on my hacked Ebay account, which PayPal refunded within the hour. Ebay/PayPal wasted no time in dealing with this - even before I knew it had happened.

Also 3 x £300+ Amazon purchases - the last of which I managed to cancel the purchase immediately it was made and it was while I was on an on line chat with Amazon, they refunded that one straight away. My Bank/Credit Card Company stood the loss of the other £600+

I'm still waiting some 2 months later, for Amazon to respond to numerous online chat's which took place over the following 2 weeks - on each occasion I was told I would hear with 24-48 hours from their investigation team. Amazon clearly don't care about fraud. I Should write and complain.

seriously shoddy ... if you're faking an email address do it right ?

or ... are they daft enough to be using their own ? if I even thought they might I have a script that can send around 4000 emails per minute. that would keep them busy!

Look up Jim Browning on Youtube, he is an internet security expert who takes down scammers in his free time and records it for us all to see. It's often scary listening to how easily people part with control of their computers, internet banking details, PayPal account etc.

Really opens your eyes to how many scams are out there.

Had one through a while back, apparently I missed a parcel

Felt iffy considering I work from home, even more so when they said charges applied for 3rd delivery, then I checked the email address

Didn’t see too many issues with it, and with everyone shopping online during these lockdown times, I can see them earning some cash.
