Remote central locking not working ***fixed***
Well I’ve bought a little project vehicle cheap and it has some issues.
I’m sorting most of these, but the one I don’t know about is the remote central locking.
It doesn’t work, either way to lock or unlock.
I’ve completed the 3 wire splice but still no joy.
I think it’s a new key shell if that helps at all?
Oh and I have an iid tool if needed
Cheers guys.

Is this with both keys ? does it work when using the button on the dash?
Has the key been coded to the car?, is the battery good in the key(s)?, and is it/they the right frequency ? will need to open the case to confirm...
Any fault codes ?
Some starters for 10 I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Ok, so let’s get started lol
Only have the 1 key (it’s in a new shell)
Dash locks all doors (ish, I’ve got problems with the drivers side rear door not locking completely which I’ve looked into and looks like it’s the locking mechanism thingy!)
Don’t know if it’s been coded to the car, I thought it would be if the key works in the ignition?
No idea on battery, don’t know how to check?
No idea on frequency or how to check?
No fault codes

Central locking and immobiliser are seperate so may not be coded.
The Autel diagnostics can code keys and at under £50 its cheaper than paying somebody elseAndrew

Amen to that.
Right did the procedure and managed to unlock the car, but won’t lock or unlock again
Could it be the case?

Hi
Don’t know if it’s an help but the keys recharge when it’s put into the ignition , also known as inductive charging
The battery inside the fob may just be dead , either by not being used or the small rechargeable battery inside the fob might req replacing
Like myself and many others bought some off ebay , are around £30 for a complete fob , plus the key cutting , I paid £10 for that , the freq needs to be 433Mhz
For future ref , There is also a guy here on the forum that can refurb key fobs but of course you will need a spare first
Ref the rear door, best to replace the actuator ASAP , but for now plse remove the door card just in case that door locks and won’t unlock , at least then it will make life a little easier to gain access to the new actuator req, please don’t ask how I know
Also bought some glass window suckers , saved messing around with tape as need to hold the door glass while removing the actuator
Hope that helps and will try and find some links for u

I put Abigail chunk of cardboard behind the pcb and low and behold all doors are locking and unlocking fine
Just the boot release to sort out now (on another thread).
Cheers guys

Hi
Haven’t personally used this company but just showing the link ref a spare key , so as u have the iid wondering if it would be worth 2 x spares , swap ur old key blade onto one of them as the battery will be new then and get the blade cut on the other one , can then program both of them at the same time and destroy ur old one
