Driver side footwell foam damp

Hi all

So... when running some cables I found that both footwells were wet.

I proceeded to replace passenger sunroof drain and that now seems dry, and I unblocked drivers side.

I’m now finding that bang in the middle of drivers footwell, underneath the carpet the foam is slightly damp. The carpet is bone dry.

No water markings on any headlinings or a pillar.

Any ideas?

Thanks

It can take a very long time to dry out so could just be from before.

You also need to check under the roof rails some members have found rust patches and leaks

Water has been known to come from the front air intake not fitting properly. Usually you look above the fuse box and check whether the pollen filter is wet. The other area could be from the air conditioner drain. But has been said it takes a while to dry out unless you have heaters in there for a few days

Hi there - my Disco has exactly the same problem. The carpet was totally soaked and now, after replacing the drain tube the carpet is bone dry. It is only wet in the very middle. I have been putting kitchen paper under to identify the area. I'm thinking it might be my air intake as the grille is away being painted.

Did you find what was causing yours?

Kind Regards

Leroy

I suspect its capillary action and relates to the original issue and has drawn water up from the floor once i fixed mine it took about a month to fully dry out

I reckon if id been able to wring my carpets out i would have got a gallon of water

Hi Thanks for that,

That is probably the issue as it's nowhere near as sodden as it was. In fact, the entire loom was submerged in water and I had to siphon it out with a tube. I'm not too sure if it were coincidence but my suspension went bonkers with the height sensor and now it's faultless again.

I sprayed WD40 over the loom from the little holes in the kick panel. All seems good except my airbag light has stayed on.

I used a wet vac on one, but as soon as I stopped it filled back up again so you may need to Jack up the rear of the vehicle or park on a slope to get it all out
