Hello all, I have recently fitted the Rhino-Rack Backbone roof rails which I intend to mount multiple slim cross bars resulting in a very low profile exped rack.
I regularly off road and intend on overland expedition e.g. Saharah, Arctic Circle, as soon as the pandemic permits. Having mechanically sorted the D3, I am now looking at bolt on options, in particular a 48" curved led light bar.
A 48" light bar should fit perfectly between the roof rails, with no requirement for the feet to be used. The problem is, it seems 48" is not a common size, at least not in the UK.
So I customised a 50" Cree LED Light Bar, reducing the length of the case and PCB, removing 4 leds and replacing with resistor.
Temporarily secured using quick release cam locks and OR65 superseal cinnectors gives me the option of whipping it off if I park anywhere dodge.
Wired to OEM spotlight switch integrated into dash.
