I put my Discovery 4 (2015 MY) into the Land Rover dealers for programming a new key. Car had been driving fine but I wanted another key fob.
After keys being on back order for a while they have now done the programming and the car can’t start and I am told it says steering locked.
How can programming a key mess up the steering lock?
Thanks
Nick

I assume you mean franchised LR dealer?
I would ask them, by email, so that the response is in writing, how programming a key can affect the steering lock.
Good luck.

I've had that message when battery was low due to listening to radio whilst cleaning the insides one day. went away when I let car go to sleep for 10 mins then tried again. .

Land Rover Franchised Dealer finally sorted this issue and now the steering lock behaves as normal. They did not replace any parts for this repair - only programming.
