Crikey!! Was it a Range Warden? Easily done though. I used to play on The Plain a few years ago, and even in a tank with military maps and all the comms you could ever need we sometimes strayed into the Drop Short's zone! If I could make it next week, where would your start point be, time etc? May not be able to spend whole day, but I'm sure I could detour my day for a few hours!!

We couldnt see any RED flags untill we were exiting the Range via a security post
We went in via the orcheston byway and despite looking, couldnt see anyflags.
Ah well, thats what recce's are for.
Could have been worse, we could have got run over by a tank
Re the Marlborough recce, i think i'm going to wait until may cos the ridgeway reopens 1st may _________________ Duncan

Well, as you say DiscoDunc, that's what recces are for! Sort something out for May and I'll organise to meet there.
Alas, NoDo$h, next weekend I'll be in an excavator ripping up my garden, putting in some drainage runs and underground water storage tanks, dumping 40 tonnes of topsoil over it all and then the weekend after, laying 300sqmtrs of turf! So I'll be offroading in a fashion and definately plastered in muck!

An excavator would be a useful bit of kit on a lanes 'recce' and clearance trip, particularly if you could attach some of those awesome hedge/tree trimmer attachments to either side of it!

Oh by the way, NoDo$h, Forgot to say THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!!
What for I hear you ask?
I have just received and fitted, this very fair morning, the Valeo UMP windscreen wiper blades! Oh what joy! I had basically given up hope that I would ever find anything that would clean my windscreen without sounding like I'd driven over the neighbours cat (please don't tell them - it was an accident!!) Did a search here and found your link so thanks a million. It'll be a pleasure when it rains! I've even got the hosepipe out to test them , I'm that pleased!

Mon plaisir
To be scrupulously fair, it was a bit of a team effort finding the Valeos, but they do rock
Excavators are fun. Have had my fair share of amusement with a 1.5t Kubota in the past (and no doubt will again soon, we have plans for the garden ) _________________ Don't Panic! Everything will be fine.... inflation is only 2.5% and the flying pigs are carbon neutral

I have a customer with a Hummer H2 who wants to join us at Salisbury. He knows he will have the p*ss taken out of him, but he is keen to have a go off road. I think the only issue is planning fuel stops for him as it's petrol .
Would he be allowed to join us or is a Hummer H2 just not the done thing for a D3 day.

I feel the urge to include the "Lane from Hell" if the vote is a "Yes" _________________ Duncan

That's cruel
I think the hill overlooking the old airfield will be enough to get the eyes out on stalks _________________ Don't Panic! Everything will be fine.... inflation is only 2.5% and the flying pigs are carbon neutral
