Great to meet you Guy. The hospitality was very welcome. We did realise that we were on the wrong road and managed to retrace our steps. So found the right Byway.

Hi Mrs catweasel once again. Chris told me about this event but said it would be pointless going as we don't have the disco just a hire car which we couldn't use to participate. I said we could still go and meet everyone at the hotel during break times. He said it wouldn't be the same but I thought i'd post and see if there were things that we could see during the day with the hire car and join everyone at meal times etc.. what do you think?

Would there be somewhere nearby that we could hire a 4x4 and which day, if we had to choose one would be the best day to hire it?

Thanks for the offer, much appreciated. Just tried to search for hire places. most don't have 4x4's. One called 5th gear had 4x4's that could be taken off road but didn't have one available in salisbury. Will try other locations close by.

Found out the tent wasn't brilliant whilst on our Sweden trip so just booked the room at the hotel - the good news is that SWMBO has now agreed to consider the purchase of a roof tent - what she doesn't realise is that it probably means a new rack as well as I don't think you can fit on to the G4 rack - looking for roof tent advice on this thread http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post312629.html#312629
Anyone else booked to stay in the hotel yet? They have quite a few rooms still reserved for Disco3 but no names against them. Permagrin by................. TorqTune

Anyone Free on Sat 5th July to assist me plot the Tulip diags and navigation distances.
It will be a slow stop and start day but as you should never go offroad solo i just need one vehicle to tag along in case of difficulties.
The Saturday will be a navigation day so NO PC waypoints to be plotted please !!
for saturday evening and sunday I'll provide waypoints and printed maps.
You may wish to purchase your own maps.
Saturday : OS Explorer 130 (I suggest this one is essental to ensure you dont get lost)
Saturday Evening : OS Explorer 157 (Optional)
Sunday : OS Explorer 157 (Optional) Duncan
