Got A D4 itch , Possibly looking to get back in the fold |

Hi All ,Not posted on hear for a few years but always have a peak now and again , After owning 2 Discovery 3s and now driving a Honda CRV that i must say has been ultra reliable but just doesn't cut the mustard size and capability wise , I've now got an itch to get back in the fold and get a early Discovery 4,
Looking price wise anywhere from 10 to 20k ,Whats the best year in this price range and any info on what issues would be greatly appreciated ,

I would suggest MY12 onwards - with the rotary gear selector
As you know these are expensive cars to run but also sooo much fun
All the usual checks and caveats for buying a previously owned car and make sure all 3 belts have been done (7 years or 112,000 miles, which ever is sooner)
Set your budget and keep some in reserve for the inevitable things that will need changing/repairing/servicing or mods that you want.

(FWIW, I did have a 3.0 TDV6 briefly)

In all seriousness to the OP, you probably want an euro 6 engine if you intend to drive the diesel into large cities in UK. That’ll mean MY16. No idea about prices, someone more local will know.
