Well, after a nearly a thousand miles from the mod, I would say that my 05 manual is not only more responsive (ie, no hesitation), it actually feels like its got a bit more ooomph (as the very surprised Q7 driver on the M40 can testify to ) I guess it because its burning clean air and fuel as opposed to some air, some crap and some fuel. I wonder if there is a bit more BHP/Torque to be had via this mod?

well, I've seen 3 numbers up on the speedo a few times over its life (re-arrange these 3 digits 0,1,2 ), and I haven't taken it above that, but it's the way it was pulling from 85 upwards that I thought had improved at little. It wasnt bad before, just now felt "better", sharper in some way. Probably perception, but I usually notice things like this.
have others noticed?

yep, SimonSi and I had this discussion, did you fit the blanks for an auto in your manual, as that would drop the MPG

Ah s t, yes, an auto blank on 1 side and a manual blank, upside down, on the other. No wonder the economy is down, but it does 0-60 in 6 seconds though D3 TDV6 S 2005 - TorqTune, Privacy Glass, Remote FBH, 19" HSE Alloys, Boot liner, retrofit F&R PDC

Not sure if mine are in up the right way or not - they only arrived today thanks to Mr.P.O.StMan loosing the first set (Many thanks to Andrew for sorting me out).
Call me speedy, but the whole job has just taken me about 35 minutes - including getting the tools out, but not counting washing hands and putting things back to bed after the job.......
A quick tip or two to make life easier - when fitting gaskets, plates and the like in hard-to-get-both-hands-in-places put a dob of grease on the mating surfaces of the loose bits, prod a bit of wire (any old wire will do) into one of the screw holes, feed the loose bits down the wire, help them to align with a screw driver, carefully pull the wire out and put the screws/bolts in and tighten away. The grease will stop the bits moving too much until you've got a bolt in.
Again, use grease to stick bolts to sockets can be a good way of NOT droping them into the lower reaches of the engine bay.
Too many years of sorting old cars where access to the back of the engine was "optional".....
Once the removal truck has gone from the end of my drive its off for a play. They asked if it was OK to stop there for a couple of hours while they unload, and so, as they asked I said yes, I didn't expect the EGR blanking job to be so quick. Rob Smith

Did the "grub screw" trick on the butterfly - I tried a bit of leverage and it didn't move, so in with a self tapping screw and out with the little link. Rob Smith

fair enough - I couldnt get it to budge either. I've even been back (when I was replacing the dropped bolt) and had another go, and it still would move.
