England 2016 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 Commercial XS Auto Corris GreyDiscovery 4
Discovery Commercial £prices

Hi all,

Wondered if anybody has had any good deals/quotes on D3 Commercials? I'm about to order but have found quite a bit of difference in price from local dealers. I'm after the base spec with met paint & tow pack. Prices vary from £22600 - £23600 excl. towpack. £400 about right for a tow pack?

Comments appreciated.

Andy.

P.S can you leave the hi suspension setting on for road use or does it lower after a certain speed. Need it to tow trailer with high hitch at about 50mph.

Andy,

Don't know about the prices, but the suspension does drop down to normal height at about 30 MPH.

However, I thought the commercials were all coil sprung (I am very probably wrong about this bit though - I'm sure someone more knowledable than I will be along to contradict me in a minute)

Thanks James,

The commercial, even the base model has air suspension as standard, unlike car derived base model which is on springs.
If the suspension drops at 30mph this is a bit of a pain, as i dont think the height adjustable towbar on the D3 goes quite high enough? Have got a Dixon Bate quick release on my D2 which on the highest setting gives a ball height of about 20". From searching on the forum it seems there is no quick release version for the D3? OK for the majority of people but i'm always towing trailers with different hitch heights!

Get the towbar aftermarket from Nick (parts Manager) at yeovil Land Rover or from e-bay. You will save a good few quid on the £400 list price you have been quoted.

The Australian members will be able to give you a good idea of higher towbar heights, due to their off road trailer requirements.
