No problems. I'll PM them to you.

Steve, not sure if I'm going to be able to stay overnight on the Saturday as I will probably have to bring the dogs with me so will leave early Sunday. If I can talk Admin into letting me leave them at home to harrass her all day then I'll let you know. If you are annoying me, just remember it takes 42 muscles for me to frown and only 4 to extend my middle finger, and I'm lazy so don't be offended.

The rendezvous point I've PM-ed you (let's not mention details here) is a nice hotel. Try them for rooms.

As our group is swelling nicely (oo-er matron), can I have a volunteer for leading a second group?
If not, I just volunteer someone.
Also, does anyone have memory map/GPS rigs? I can give them the route. (and they can help navigate the second group)
I'll be providing maps/routes on the day anyway.
I'll PM rendezvous instructions to our new joins.

NB: If you've NEVER been offroad (e.g. Land Rover Experience or similar) then PM me, please.
Also NB: This is not some commercial thing with insurances and liabilities and all that. It's just a group of like-minded people going for a recreational drive in the countryside. The lanes have been driven many times by various people on this site and they are classed as non-damaging. However if you drive them badly you may damage your car. As in any activity accidents can happen. I'm not taking any responsibility or liability in this outing. If you don't like the look of any lane then don't drive it.
The vegetation is growing strongly at this time of year. You may rub against the odd bush or bramble. If this worries you I suggest you bring some loppers or seceteurs (however you spell it)
Keep your distance between vehicles to allow poeple space to back up and avoid stones getting trown up
Also we will follow the practice of "reverse following" - Keep the driver in the convoy behind you in your rear view mirrors. If you can't see him, stop and wait until he catches up. The person in front of you should spot that you have stopped and wait as well, etc. That way nobody gets left behind at traffic lights, junctions etc. If the person behind you gets lost - it's your fault, not his.
General guidance (credits to Dom Harvey/10forcash, or whoever wrote it in the first place)
All vehicles should carry the following as a minimum
Fire extinguisher
First – aid kit
Drinking water
Serviceable spare wheel
Jack, wheelbrace, locking wheel nut tool
PMR or XTN446 radio (s)
Mobile phone
Waterproof jacket (s)
Warm clothing
Spade or shovel
It is recommended that the following also be carried, but is not essential
Recovery strop, rated at least 4.5 tonnes
Bow shackles, rated at least 4.5 tonnes
Heavy – duty gloves
Spade or shovel
Vehicle preparation
Although most of this is common sense, it’s worth repeating as an aide memoir
Check all fluid levels are up to the maximum, particularly engine oil, prolonged operating at angles can cause oil starvation should the level be marginal
Check tyre pressures are correct and appropriate for the expected vehicle load, check tyres for physical damage, although small cuts are of little consequence in day to day use, they can result in a puncture when stressed during off road driving.
Ensure all tyres have valve caps
The spare tyre should be inflated to the maximum rear tyre pressure
Ensure that you have some form of load restraint, even small items can cause damage or injuries so make sure that you have sufficient secure storage.
Check before and after driving that all windows, external mirrors, lights and index plates are clean, ‘wet-wipes’ are ideal for this, also ensure you have a bin bag to hold all the waste wet wipes, drinks containers, sweet wrappers etc.
As the days driving will be on public byways, the wearing of seatbelts is mandatory, as it is on a metalled road. Please ensure you comply, this is for your own protection. It is also advisable to keep windows closed when moving to prevent stones, mud or branches causing damage or injury.
A note on PMR radios
We have found that the ‘Binatone’ and other super – cheap radio’s are more of a liability than a communication device, if you don’t already have some radio’s I recommend the Motorola T5xxx series radio’s or if you’re feeling flush, the Motorola XTN446 are the mutts nuts – at a price..
Make sure you know how they operate, including how to change channel and don’t forget your charger and spare batteries!
eBay seems a good place to get good radio’s at a cheap price, failing that, Argos
I'll bring along some spare PMR radios. All opinions expressed in this posting are my own and are not necessarily those of someone who knows what they are talking about.

Great, thanks. You lead a group then. I'll put someone with you who's done (at least some of) the lanes before.
PM me your email address and I'll send you the route when I've finalised it.
cheers
