Bad experience with Hunters Land Rover in Ipswich.

Hey - I've not got the Disco anymore. I bought a FFRR.

Here's my sad story:

My 06 Range Rover has just come back from Hunters in Ipswich after going in for a few warrantee jobs with none of the jobs done!

Here's the list of jobs:
Front offside headlight is full of condensation.
New headlight fitted, but still has condensation in it. My LED side lights are there too. I suspect they have tried to dry it off instead of replace.
Hand Brake does not work.
Car has been in water so not covered by warrantee. They tell me they will have to replace the discs, pads and sensors on rear because the handbrake pads operate on the inside of the disc which is corroded. This all sounds like bunkum!
Remote cabin heater fob does not work.
Still doesn't even though they say it does.
Double clicking the lock button on the remote does not turn off inside alarm.
They say they cannot get the alarm to go off with somebody inside, however, my dogs managed to set it off this morning whilst I was at the snack wagon. I had double clicked it.
Venture Cam does not work.
They replaced the holder because it was not charging. It still doesn't work though.
Compass in 4x4 info always says unavailable.
They said this is fixed but it isn't.
Voice control cannot hear me / understand me at motorway speed.
They say that I'm not allowed to control the sat nav on the move so it disables. Bunkum again! It was working fine.
Air conditioning does not blow cold.
They tell me that a stone has made a hole in the condenser so will cost £580.00+VAT. I can't see how a stone could get to the condenser. There is no evidence of any dye being used to find leak. I will get a second opinion here. trying to fleece me I think.
Headlight delay needs to be set for 90 seconds
Said it's done but it isn't
Speed related locking needs to be turned on.
Said it's done but it isn't

What a nightmare!

Erm.....have you posted this on the correct forum? (and in the Maintenance & Modifications section too??)

I may be missing something, but you've lost me with your FFRR problems on a D3 forum Confused

I used to hang around here when I had a Disco.

I thought you chaps may find this interesting. Especially users living near the stealer in question.

surely maintenance is the correct forum. I did send it for maintenance after all.

Or Dealership feedback Wink

I would ask to meet with the Dealer principle I think !!

As for the handbrake, ask them are they refusing to cover something under warranty because you have used a car designed to be used off-road, off road ? Swiftly followed by a call to LR Customer services Whistle

Good luck - don't take any Censored

Yes this is probably best in dealer feedback - it's quite unbelievable.

I did ask why a 60k car designed to go off road would have it's warrantee void if I drive through a puddle. It is their contention that the car has been immersed in water for a long period of time.

Are they right about the handbrake operating on the inside of the disc?

Sounds like a right bunch of sheisters Hampstead & welcome back! Smile

Park brake does work onthe inside of the hubs AFAIR.

Is your 4x4 info compass not available oly because Did you know, that you have to have the SatNav in Off Road Mode for the 4x4 info compass to work (at least that's on the D3 & RRS).

Voice Control is designed to work on the move (hence the only real reason you need voice control) If it only worked whilst stationary, then you'd press the flippin' buttons! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Time for a call into LR CS team as well as a different dealer!

Good luck!

When I had my AC regassed last week they used a dye that was only visible under UV light - just a thought.

Bodsy - I've got the car booked in to another dealer. Let's see how I get on.

Bobby - I used a UV light to see if there was any dye.

As I thought, there are shoes in the hub so why do they tell me they have to change the discs, pads and sensors for the rear brake?!?

I'll be interested to see what the other dealer says. They've been pretty good in the past, but you have to wait 3 weeks to get the car in. The Ipswich sheisters do it next day.

Perhaps I should have read something into that!

I've taken my car to Hammond Land Rover in Halesworth to let them look at the list of items.

The Air Con has a leaky pipe and will be fixed under warrantee and the hand brake just needs tightening.

The Ipswich bunch (Hunters) wanted to charge me £1,300.00 to do this!

I called their service department and they are un-repentant. They still "stand by their original diagnosis"!

Encouraging start - what about the other 8 items though?

The other items are being dealt with - no questions.

Sorry if this is "off topic" being a RR owner. It is useful dealer feedback though.
