Phoned both numbers on the receipt today + the phone number on the website and got 'unavailable' messages on all 3. Also emailed their sales address with the request that someone ring me (mentioned I wanted to book on the Disco3.co.uk deal) and nobody phoned.

I know Ben was having a nightmare with his phone yesterday. I'm sure he'll get back to you as soon as he's managed to retrieve all his messages. _________________ "Nothing sweet about me."

Simple answer, Ben has his land Line and Mobile numbers divered to the same number so that he can answer (if he or one of the guys has their hands full) via a headset. Anyway gremilns meant that all calls are answered with an engaged tone or he answers but it looked like you were being cut off. Think it's resolved as I just called - to get the answer.
BTW most Internet connections seem to require a phone line - hence no reply _________________ "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Big Fish - sent you a PM with the details of what to do next
Think I set the time limit on the sign up @30 days so not too long left for anyone still to send a deposit or sign-up _________________ "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Spent a long day with Ben on Friday getting my windows done
The day wasn't without its hitches. First, the tinted security film was almost mirror-like, not the smoked look I was expecting. A short call to the supplier confirmed it was the right stuff, but it isn't very well described. I think they're going to take it back and refund Ben.
This means that he now has a more work to do for those of us who asked for tints - he has to do clear security glass all round, then tint over it. That's why it was a long day for us both. On the plus side, it does mean you can choose your tint level. I went for 15% at the back and no additional tint on the front.
The results are absolutely outstanding. Ben does a very thorough job and has very high standards for himself. Twice he got some dust under panels, and the film was whipped straight out and he started again.
There are still a few specks here and there - it's unavoidable on a not-new vehicle - particularly one that's spent time in the desert but you can only see them when you scrutinise it - you'd really never notice it unless you were looking for it.
It's difficult to photograph the end result, here's one that did come out ok and I'll try to take some more today. The D3's filthy so it doesn't really show it off very well anyway.
Full size
I'm asolutely delighted with the final result. _________________ Programming is a race between Software Developers trying to create bigger and better foolproof programs and the Universe trying to create bigger and better fools. So far, the Universe is winning.

Is this security film and tint a new product Ben is 'trying out' then? Somehow I would have expected to be buying a product that is already tried and tested in use (by him) - like the 3M materials.
Can we get clarification on this? _________________

I think the issue is that teh film supplier mis-described the security tint.
Rob arranged to have the clear security film (Meets Glass security BS Stds) fitted then the tint over the top. I guess to save a wasted journey & to keep the customer happy. Not sure if it is a 'new; process but I guess he has done the same before. _________________ TDV6 HSE Black, Black Wheels /MTR's, Black RRS front/rear LR badge (tbf) Black Leather, Black Glass, Black TowB, Shiny Tasmods, Dull Mantec, White Reflective D3 Sticker, Black steering wheel badge, black air intake.

It sounded like Ben was planning to do the same as he did for me for everyone who wants tints. As I said - you can specify the level of tint you want doing it this way too - he offered me 15, 20 or 35% and could, if desider, do a combination of tint levels (so you can 'fade out').
I don't think it's at all unusual to tint over security film - if you read Pentagon's website they describe their 'supaglass' as an invisible film so it sounds like they would have to do the same.
But ultimately, if you're concerned, then you need to speak to the expert.
Sorry mal, no more pics yet, the weather today was not conducive to going out and photographing. _________________ Programming is a race between Software Developers trying to create bigger and better foolproof programs and the Universe trying to create bigger and better fools. Glad your happy
Ben has done thousands of cars from his two sites, He has used security film on a number of cars, but for the group buy ordered a new film (they are developed all the time) from his usual supplier. I nipped down to say Hi and saw the film. If I understood correctly he will be sending back and replacing the tinted security film. The upside is, as already stated, if you call him first he can probably do different levels of tint rather than just 20 % or clear.

I've just spoken to Ben - I've decided to go just for the tinting - easier for him as he's getting hassle from the security film suppliers who are refusing to refund the cost of the incorrect "mirrored" film. _________________ 2007 TDV6 SE Zermatt Silver, auto, black leather and nothing else!

Had my windows done yesterday and I am very pleased with the result!
Thank you 90 BHP for facilitating the deal.
I was waiting for Ben to arrive at about 0845 and he didn't finish it until 1615.He worked hard and the result is excellent.
Remember for those waiting to have it done that he doesn't accept cards so take cash or a cheque.
Also explored the delights of Hinckley and the SWMBO and I have never seen so many D3s and RRs in a day before. Almost every other car was one so we were pleased to get back to Glos where they are less common!
Thanks again
Owen

He's very good isn't he
I forgot to report on my trip in to Hinckley... I went into the Wetherspoons - the Baron. Free wifi, cheap beer, and plenty of 'local colour'
I returned to watch Ben's progress after a fairly short stay _________________ Programming is a race between Software Developers trying to create bigger and better foolproof programs and the Universe trying to create bigger and better fools. So far, the Universe is winning.
