| Totaly offtopic / Where can I get a iphone in New York |

My friend sits at the moment in New York and wants to buy iphones. Contactet so far 8 Places and everyone is out of stock. Any tipps where to get one?
Hope you guys from the states can help.

As far as I am aware I thought the only 2 places to buy an iPhone was either direct from Apple (there has to be a few Apple stores in NY) or from AT&T (the exclusive distributor of iPhones - there will be loads of AT&T stores in NY). Good Luck!

Just got the message from my friend that in the greater area from NY all iPhones are sold out.

You'll find (or not to be exact) that iPhones's are getting very sparse in the channel in the US.
Being blamed on component shortages / demand too high / a new one if on its way.
Apple will suffer a number of months with no inventory if required in order to clear the channel and await new product.

I've got an unopened 8g iphone I won at a company event. I can't use it with my corporate email so I have no use for it. I'm in Chicago. I was going to put it on ebay tonite ....seeing that there is a shortage.....if you want to buy from me in Chicago I'm open to offers....

You probabaly want to sell it for a much higher price then as it is in the store to have I guess with the shortage.
Edit: Thanks for the kind offer. Rather prefer 16GB Version

Given the current shortage (article), they're going for a premium on ebay; the successful bidder will be paying postage on top of a premium bid. That's quite a bit of chutzpah you're exhibiting to a kind offer from another member.
