| How to change windscreen wiper blades |
|
I seem to have a problem understanding what the handbook says about changing the wiper blades. The front ones pivot a few inches off the screen, possibly just enough to change the blade. In every other car I've ever had, the wipers hinge right away from the screen. Th raer wiper won't hinge away from the screen at all, so I don't see how I can change the blade on that. Help!

You have to have the new blade handy, ready to swap it whilst holding the arm away from the screen.( I know it doesn't move far, but it can be done with no problem). It sounds like your rear wiper arm may be siezed if it won't pivot away at all, it should move away a couple of inches. try spraying some WD40 or something just on the wiper arm pivot to free it off, they do tend to jam up due to road muck / salt ingress here. Hope that helps.

trick job pull in the direction the blade has to go and fiddle until you find the tiny level it will go. replace with Silencios - great blade a pleasure when it rains

I can see where the rear wiper is supposed to pivot but it won't budge. Have to get a new can of WD40, but I've still got a few days of warranty left so the dealer ought to do something about it.
