Rear Chassis Loom

Evening all,

Im getting various shorts in the rear loom, epb, back to the two block connectors in the rear arch... When it goes into fit mode, loose the dash, i.e no gauges, engine fault, epb fault, gearbox fault, hazards are on, locks go into lock unlock... if Im driving at the time, it will drive fine, just a idiot with there hazards on, then hit a bump it clears, or stop and waggle the connections and goes off...

Now we are in the middle of packing up the croft to move, so a nightmare time for this crap to start playing up... Would I be quicker to replace the loom with a take off or is that nightmare with the body on... as I have found a couple of chassis looms on ebay.. Though weirdly different part numbers for the same thing...

YNN500462B is one and another YNN500472C is this just superseeded part numbers...

Many thanks in advance..

David

It has got to be quicker, let alone be cheaper, for an auto electrician to bypass the chassis connectors for the troublesome wires.

The loss of the CAN bus integrity, and the subsequent missing CAN bus messages, is the probable reason for your christmas tree dashboard.

The CAN bus runs in and out of the EPB module, and there is a high and low wire for each "run", so there are 4 wires in total to concentrate on.

Pins 4, 6 are CAN high. Yellow with brown stripe
Pins 5, 7 are CAN low. Yellow with black stripe

These are the pin numbers of the black connector pair (C0390/C0376) on top of the chassis behind the strut on the left hand side of the vehicle.

Hi Martin
Thank you so much for the reply and very valuable information... I might have a go myself as Im in Caithness, and autosparks aren't a thing here Sad

It seems to temp cure it waggling those connector blocks on the top of the chassis.. So will did the multi meter out and order some wire.. This may be the daftest question out there, but what size of wire would you recommend?

Kind regards
David

Thumbs Up for giving it a go.

0.5mm2 thin wall is the size to use.

If you need I can send you a metre or so in each of the correct colours?
