Skytrek is good value (with some decent 4WD'ing but not car breaking for 60km - 6hrs) and takes a whole day including a side trip off to Skull Rock. You got to start by a certain time in the morning otherwise they won't let you go.

From Rawnsley Park you can book Chace Range Spectacular (5 hrs of rocky 4WD'ing) and Arkapena Scenic Adventure (3hrs of easy 4WD'ing with a Prelinna lookout and a spectacular view of the central Flinders Ranges).

From Wilpena Pound you can book Arkaba Station self-drive track which features spectacular scenery including the Elder Range and the southern wall of Wilpena Pound (3-4 hrs of easy 4WDing).

If you go to Blinman then go and do PAR 3 - Nuccaleena Mine Public Access Route – 14km of easy 4WD'ing and a great look see at the old copper mine building and relics.

Go here to download the tracks in SA and the Flinders Ranges http://www.flindersoutback.com/driving

If you go to Nuccaleena, as you come out veer left past Moolooloo Station and continue on the PAR to take you thru to Artimore Homeatead ruins. Went thru there about 3 weeks ago and there are some fairly large ruts, but nothing particularly serious. Makes a really good drive and brings you out above Blinman. Perfect for a stop into the Blinman pub on the way back and a nice cold lemonade. Allow about 6-7hrs for the full trip, including looking around Nucaleena, stopping somewhere for lunch (make sure you take the fridge with all you need) and a bit of a look over the Artimore ruins. Good day trip. Would love to join you all, but too many other short trips and took much time in the office.

Cheers,
Martin

I was thinking of doing SkyTrek on the Sat & going to Blinman on the Sunday, but I was going to wait & see what the consensus was & how many would be there.

As noted the fam and I will be there on Friday PM, however friends will be joining us to go over the simpson after (2 cars). One lot will be arriving Sat pm, the other not until Sunday PM. Hope no one minds if 1 of them (an old low lux) tags along on Sunday's outing - whatever that is??

Cheers
