Glimpse of future headlamps and grill?
If you go to the Land Rover LRX website (http://lrx.landrover.com/index.html) and watch the video that starts out with commentary by Phil Popham Managing Director where he says "Land Rover has never been in better shape........" there is a brief fly by of a new design Discovery 3 front end. Just after the brief comments by Julian Thomson - "Advanced Design" you will see the fly by of new design headlamps and grill of a Discovery 3. Headlamps look to employ the same LED surrounds that Audi has on the R8. Grill looks aluminum similar to the FFRR and RRS. I would post a picture of the headlamps and grill but the video is in flash. Has anyone seen this yet?16 D4 Landmark

looks more like its to do with the RRS than the D3. similar to what has already been done but with some stupid touches added.

I don't think the headlight is "tall" enough to be D3, must be RRS, D3 headlights are huge and square and don't match that screenshot...

I've just re-watched the clip a couple of times and those lights aren't on a Sport or a Range Rover unless LR are going to change their badging policy. RRS and FFRR have Range Rover along the bonnet edge, not Land Rover and the car in the clip has Land Rover on the bonnet. Could they be on the next Defender or Freelander? Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300

Seems to have an additional air intake too... maybe for the new big petrol engine or maybe a faux one for 'styling'.
Although LR did say "it only has one cause it only needs one" when it first came out.
But if a real vent then it will look kinda silly if you have to fit two RAI's

It says within the Land Rover Chronicles article that the Discovery 3 will receive new bumpers, revised front headlights, revised tail lights, and a new engine. I'd say the pics posted above are where LR is headed with the refinements.16 D4 Landmark

The rear looks the same as the current one.
I guess they are testing the airflow of the new front design.
Although this has not appeared on the MY09 D3's shown so far, I guess it could make the cut. Maybe this a high end grill for the high end V8 only to start with ? Like RRS and FFRR have their own SC version grill etc.
Anyway, it will be what it will be... and I like it

Ask them if they can allow for slot in EGR blankers while theyre redesgning , just to save some knuckle skin
Nah , second thoughts, it might take some of the fun out of it.

LR chronicles just has grill no light changes, which would suggest grill does something different to air flow or ventilation (all manufacturers tend not to put cosmetic changes on a test mule, but if the grill is there it must be a practical reason why old grill is not used on the mule).
I thought that roll cage was a bit OTT until I realised they were testing at the Nurbergring!

I'm pretty sure it's a future Discovery, even the bonnet looks like the Disco's...
