So would an interstate FFRR be welcome on any of your proposed D3 social meets.
I have to come down to Frankston in the not to distant future and already have tentative plans to meet up with RED DISCO so would a good excuse to meet up.
Cheers. _________________ 2007 TDV8 RR Lux + 2005 D3 SE V6 Petrol

Andy - great idea - only hope I could join you occasionally (I've been to about 4 LROCV meetings in 4 years - and I don't live far from the venue )
Where are you thinking of meeting? How many/any of you work in the city or close by? Would be easiest to do something after work sometimes...
Plus the occasional Sunday winery on the mornington peninsula
cheers,

Hi Drivesafe,
I'm sure you'd be most welcome, even driving your mobile Drawing Room (RR Lux)....do you normally wear slippers and a smoking jacket (it's ok, just jealous of the TDV8....)
Simon,
Not sure of everyone's location yet tho several appear to be local down this way - but it is early days yet and anything is possible. For what it is worth, I am planning to check out the LROC at their meeting this evening - are you going?
Red
No, I wasn't thinking of Dr McIntyre's place - presumably you mean The Cup Estate - what's it like? Looks a bit up market for a casual family affair..and a lot further down the Peninsula?
Had in mind Barmah Park Estate (identified by the Red Tractor at the gate); I just gave them a call, in case an early meeting is of interest - say on Sunday the 18th of May - before Simon and others take off for their Flinders hike and they are about 1/3 booked so far, so plenty of room at the moment but would need to make a booking by this week end.
You can see all the details if you check these two links

If anyone is interested, please reply here (to let others know) and pm me your contact details - I'll reply with mine and I'll see what I can do about a group booking....

Are there any tracks nearby that we could perhaps venture on to work up an appetite first?? _________________ What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

Hi guys.
A D3 group sounds like a great idea. I'm already a member of LROCV but I'd love to go out with other D3's. Unfortunately I'll be away in Brisbane on the 18th of May, but please keep me in mind for future get togethers. I'm not in the SE Melbourne area though. Is that a problem? _________________ Disco 3, Gold TDV6 HSE, rear e diff, kaymar rear bar, ARB bullbar with front parking sensors, Warn winch, 110L auxiliary tank, dual battery, GME UHF, Lightforce spotties, Cooper ST's, LR snorkel, Expedition roof rack.

Hi Folks,
Clearly the 18th was a long shot - being at somewhat short notice but no matter.
However, it would be useful to establish if a venue such as the one suggested is likely to be of interest or if there would be more interest in somewhere closer to Melbourne (depending on just how many participated, parking may be an issue...?).
Once an idea as to what represents an acceptable location has been established perhaps then we can put up a poll on a popular date (Martin - how is this done...?)
Regarding Moby's suggestion of nearby tracks, personally I feel it would be a little premature to consider that (not that I am aware of any near here anyway) but it could be considered at some point perhaps?
D34me - location is really only an issue if an agreed meeting point proves to be a problem for you - and if the D3 Social Group gets going, I feel sure that there would be interest in heading North of Melbourne at some point anyway.
So any feedback as to whether the Mornington Peninsula is acceptable or not - and any good dates would be good to receive....
As suggested by drivesafe, might also link this in with the AULRO site (where I notice a number of you also reside as well...).
As a general observation, from the range of contributors so far it seems that there is general interest in a group focussed on the present generation of Landies as a whole - could perhaps be seen as the Electronic Landrovers...?
Over to you for comment then...on location, dates and who it should be aimed at...
