Thats nothing. You should speak to simon
Been trying to upload the pics of the Message Centre... sever won't play the game.
But yeah, 37MPG taking it easy but not driving like grandad. Included around 3 miles of low range around Stonehenge (it was a quiet day) and 154.4 miles of driving in total. Mixed roads, A, B, motorway etc.
Total range if you add the trip to the 'what you can still do' number was 710.4 miles.
IF the server will let me upload later, I'll post the pics. If you need me to of course
You trust me don't you ??? Really you do
Here, enough infos for you to work out the numbers
Range... 710 miles inc 154 driven.

MPG... actually peaked at 37.3 I think.

Flippin' eck. 27.4 no matter how I drive, or where I go. Mind you, I don't bother resetting the trip think very often.
Thats still pretty good for such a vehicle but I'm getting distinctly peed off with the growing difference in petrol vs diesel prices. I liked my D2, but my D3's better ....

was that real MPG, as we all know how trip comps can be inaccurate. I'm happy that mine seems to be pretty close to real, as I did a brim to brim top up, and calc using the miles I'd traveled against the fill up, and this was 26MPG when the trip comp was showing 26.1.
It does seem that the D3 does vary in its MPG by quite a bit, and thats not just auto to manual either.

Just noticed from your mileometer that yours must be fairly new (4k miles and clock showing the in on-dash display). Mines an 06 model (55 plate) with just over 50k miles on it - so does model build make a difference (Euro 3, Euro 4. etc) TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony
(and 19" RRS alloys, and 20" RRS alloys, and 19" RRS alloys, and........, satnav & DVD)

I never get above 25 and mostly its around 22.5mpg. Don't drive that hard or fast but it is mostly local. That said it only went up to 23.something on last month's trip to the Alps. Dealers have looked at it twice but assure me its normal (!)

MY07 onwards has a slightly modified engine for the latest emissions regs. Makes for better MPG (mine is rarely below 32/33 if I drive normally) but slightly noisier engine... has a more breathy sound to it.
This figures are for the trip computer, but my last one (MY05) averaged around 27/28 when driven normally.

I do wonder if there isn't more LR could do about this issue. The thread i started http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic21053.html?highlight= on the suspicious effects of a service on my car's consumption suggests something's not right. Anyway, I'm currently doing some brim to brim calibrations and will feed that back if it's interesting. 2008.5 D3 HSE, Stornoway, Ebony

my 07 manual chipped Disco normally gives 29MPG (75% at 60/70mph and 25% in town) not bad considering I have 19" MTR's on it and the A bar, winch, mantec plate and crossbars at all times. Was getting over 31MPG prior to adding all the bits.
Did 2000kms in the UK last week with 7 people on board and towing a twin axle ifor williams trailer (BV84) and averaged 18.6MPG (and 85mph for a lot of it) The Double D's

One of the oddities is why the trip computer, which I reset at each fill up, is always abot 15%, better than the actual "brim to brim" calculation.

yawlboy, for your next rip to the UK with a trailer, the UK towing speed limit is 60mph on motorways, 50mph elswhere, and no using the outside lane of a threelane motorway

Yes, ferry planning can be difficult, reminds me of last summer when we left Saltzburg at 9am, and the satnav said 7pm arrival in Genoa (for the ferry which boarded at 7pm!) problem was an Alfa GT (of which you just bought one it seems!) only gets 47-52MPG on a long run so we needed to stop for fuel... and lunch...
Took "short cut" around lake Garda, which is highly recommended as a scenic route, unless your filming a bond movie in which case it seems its best avoided!

Getting this thread firmly back on track I've just arrived in Rochdale, having driven up from West Malling (spookily!) in Kent on visiting student daughter duty, and the meter reads 36.4 for the journey - including periods of zippy driving between the M1 roadworks. Cra ppy traffic, but arrived as fresh as a daisy with my permagrin as wide as it can be.
Normaly I get spot on 30, but I did put a dose of REDEX diesel additive in on the previous fill.

It's the 08 models mapping. I had an 08 plate XS as a courtesy car recently. I didn't do any calculations etc. but I did reset the computer & it didn't dip below 30mpg.
Also, it felt very lively. Far superior to my 06 model when that was "standard".
