Just decided try being a bit lighter footed, so today, round trip from Brum to West Malling in Kent, 360mile round trip. Kept the speed to a steady cruise (between 70 and 75, apart from short section of M25 at 60, 'cause the speed signs were on), trip comp showing 34.2MPG, but better still was trip mileage at the half tank mark was 319, with range showing 330miles still to go.
Who says its a gas guzzler

Why the heck are consumtion figures so varied on the D3
I do most of my driving on Motorways at similar speeds - my overspeed warning is set to 75 - and I only get 27mpg at best.
It does have a JE re-map, but then it's not being used at these speeds!
WHY THE HUGE DIFFERENCES
oops, sorry for shouting! Blessed are the cracked, for they shall let in the light.

I can just get 30mpg on my auto if I drive very carefully, but generally 27mpg. For some reason it has dropped recently to 24.5mpg which is the lowest ever.
I only got 36mpg today using the Qahqai to go to London, but that was a lot of town driving.

cw check your air filter as changing mine made a big dif (25 up tp 29 overnight after change). Worth a few pennies, well £15, spent with TLO, might be a good group buy from Nick@Yeovil.

Been trying to upload the pics of the Message Centre... sever won't play the game.
But yeah, 37MPG taking it easy but not driving like grandad. Included around 3 miles of low range around Stonehenge (it was a quiet day) and 154.4 miles of driving in total. Mixed roads, A, B, motorway etc.
Total range if you add the trip to the 'what you can still do' number was 710.4 miles.
IF the server will let me upload later, I'll post the pics. If you need me to of course
You trust me don't you ??? Really you do

I can get 33 driving to work on the A6, mainly 50-60 taking it steady.
I also get 18 with the caravan on the back.

I know that there's a thread about diesel additives elsewhere on the site but (like Wiggs ISTR) I recently added a bottle of Forte Advanced Diesel Treatment to a full tank on my 05 TDV6 SE. I then ran the tank down to when the Low Fuel light started to appear then filled up to the top. Since using the Forte stuff, there has been a substantial increase (+ 20%) in the average mpg showing on the trip computer (yes I know this isn't an accurate indicator). At one stage last weekend after filling up, the trip computer even got up to 40.6 mpg after 70 miles from the fill up.

I didnt want to be driving like me dad, so no 55mph stuff (at which I guess you could get higher MPG), so 34 at 70-75 seemed OK to me. And I checked my trip MPG readout only last week against a brim to brim fill, and it was only 0.1MPG out (calculation gave 26MPG, trip was showing 26.1)
