Thanks Bill , pmed you also.
Thanks in advance too to FleurT and nosweat, much appreciated, site donation on its way!
Just a quick update...
Everything pretty much back together, chassis painted, new intake hose and fan belt gone on. New engine mounts fitted, new rear springs also. Transmission brake stripped and sorted out. New wheels and tyres fitted, wanted to go up a size to fill the arches, but still wanted the olde worlde look, managed to pick up some deeper dish defender 110 wheels with BFGoodrich trac edge in 235/85-16. A fair bit bigger than the 205/80's! Speedo will be a bit out, but there will be a gramin GPS fitted discreetly into the dash with a speed readout, so not a huge problem.
Just when we thought the mechanical side of things was about done, and were planning the MOT, I managed to shear off a brake bleed nipple and Will managed to find some wafer thin metal on the gearbox crossmember, a good stab with the screwdriver and hey presto..... a hole!! !!! Dont want to patch it and bodge it up, and considering the rest of the chassis is so good I have just ordered a new one at the princely sum of £23! Hopefully cutting old out and welding new in later this week.
Will I remove front springs and swap them to the correct sides so she isnt leaning heavily??? Will I make my MOT deadline of the end of the month???? Will my girlfiend leave me If I spend much more time with Cerys???? Will I say It and torch the bitch if anything else falls off her???(the landy!) stay tuned to find out folks!!! Powered by :

Landysam just tried to upload a couple of pics, but for some reason it all went a bit funny and went into debug mode? Powered by :

Cheers Sam, I look a complete Bellend! Finnaly got her together, out of the workshop and onto the drive again. Little test run and she topped 60! Steady on! Powered by :

Sidney are there any plans to give her a lick of paint or are you going to leave her battle hardened Good work done there in such a short period of time swmbo would not even let me entertain a project like that as it would mean more time spent on something i enjoy and not her MY08 JAVA BLACK HSE,

Sidney, In my opinion you should never paint an old Land Rover.

It will be getting a fresh coat in the not too distant future - Sid hopes!
It's having new door tops, 1 new door bottom, wings have been replaced, tailgate slightly off colour, so it all needs matching up as you can see the door colour is quite a bit darker.

Yep, If it was just a few battle scars I would leave it, but its already had a respray at some point, but doesnt look like they used the right primer for ally (etch I beleive). Its flaking off a few panels in a big way, and the new bits need painting, so hoping to get at that as soon as its MOT'd. Pobably do the painting 'in house' If I can remember how to do it properly! Staying with the Limestone colour.

Really pleased with the 110 wheels and tyres, fill the arches a lot better, and gives her a nice lift, but still looks old school. Powered by :

Thank you very much Bill Wright for the manuals and kit I received today. Much appreciated, I can now tackle some of the more fiddly jobs with a bit more confidence! Thank you very much to Fleur T also for bringing them up to sunny Herefordshire for me, was nice to meet another D3'er.
Not much else to report at the moment, got another box full of bits and pieces to go on, but work is a little hectic just at the moment, should do a bit more next week with a bit of luck. My main problem now is one of my numpty business partners has managed to lose or accidently bin the reg document when it landed from the DVLA in the farm office. Excellent work there that man!!! So MOT is on hold untill I can get a replacement! Hopefully have a bit more to report soon. Powered by :
